Description: Opened in 2011 the flagship location of Chef Daniel's Épicerie Boulud is located on Manhattan's Upper West Side at Broadway and 64th Street. The eat-in/take-out market offers the chef's signature house-made charcuterie and a selection of artisanal cheeses, alongside home-made soups, salads, sandwiches, fresh baked breads, pastries and more. On the shelves you'll find house-made gourmet foods and a selection of condiments selected by Daniel and his chefs in their world travels. Daytime at the Epicerie starts with breakfast, followed by lunch, followed by irresistible gelati, pastry and coffee in the afternoon. In the evening, oysters, wines by the glass and a daily seasonal plat du jour making it a gathering place for Upper West Side neighbors and Lincoln Center theater goers alike.

So far they have the best croissant I was able to find in the neighborhood. Their sandwiches are also grate. Their vegetable quiche had abundance of veggies and they did not dominate the flavor. You could taste almost every single vegetable as well as the binding egg.

The grilled cheese sandwich was quite simple however the combination of cheeses inside made perfect sense. The pastries are always fresh.

This is not a cheap place, however if you are looking for relatively good french bakery/patisserie, this is a good place to stop by.

There also have quite good selection wine and of cheese and meat plates for lunch.

My only complaint is that they may cappuccino as a latte, so a lot of milk with almost no foam. So if you are particular about it, make sure to ask them to do it properly.

We were looking for a place for lunch after being at Lincoln Center. One of our best meals ever was as the flagship restaurant, Daniel, so we decided to try Epicerie Boulud. We ate at the little tapas bar, where we split a pate de campagne platter and a banh-mi sandwich. Nice wine selection by the glass, also. My husband went to the pastry section and got us a piece of carrot cake to split for dessert. After all this wonderful food we walked back to our hotel and took naps!!

Excellent salad, unusual variety, very tasty. Excellent desserts: cookies, french patisserie & croissants. Cappuccino also very good. However, two small salads and three cookies came to $28.00, which seems a bit pricey. Welcome to Manhattan.
