Description: Welcome to Toloache (pronounced toh-lo-AH-tchay), chef-owner Julian Medina's contemporary Mexican bistro located in the Upper East Side. Toloache is named after a flowering plant famed in Mexico for its use in love potions. We hope that when you dine with us you too will fall under the spell of chef Medina's creative cooking, which incorporates seasonal and natural ingredients and more than a dozen types of chilies. Along with the authentic Mexican menu and an exceptional tequila list, we offer elegant decorative elements imported from Mexico. We look forward to seeing you soon.

Enjoyed multiple taco dishes (cerviche tacos, grasshopper tacos), Carnitas entree, guacamole, and cocktails. The cocktails were incredible (loved my mojito), as was the guacamole and chips. Service was great and atmosphere energetic and authentic. Will definitely return! Great Churros dessert and coffee too.

The rooms are crowded, noisy, and not especially pretty, but there is a nice garden. The food, with eclectic riffs on Mexican ingredients, is consistently quite wonderful. Servce is friendly if erratic.

Oh Yummy! Guacamole, fresh warm chips, paella with fresh lobster, clams, shrimp! Quesadilla of short rib and bone marrow too much goodness on this menu. The best part it's all fresh and prepared in a traditional fashion. Drinks are delicious with a wide selection of margaritas, beer and wines. The customer service is warm, sincere and fantastic. You experience authentic Mexican hospitality. This is a neighborhood gem on the upper east side. I can't wait to go back.

This place is awesome. The front part is quite noisy and busy with the bar and some tables, the middle section is kinda quiet and the rear room is where we were. The cocktail list is incredible, with all sorts of tequilas, mojito, caipirinha and more. And the food... Mexican cuisine reinvented !
And the service is great

A good friend and I had a lovely dinner at Toloache 82 on 82nd Street last month.

The restaurant is very elegant, our service was outstanding, cleanliness was very good, and everyone in the back room where we were seated seemed to have a very good time.

The ceviche was an interesting mixture of amachi yellowtail, meyer lemon, cucumber red onion, huicholl salsa, and crispy avocado -- the Mexican flavors over-whelmed the fish tastes, so it was not the classic Peruvian style, but still very good.

The Paella Da Quinoa was made with quinoa-pico de gallo, corn, carrots, asparagus cauliflower, roasted hon shimeji mushrooms black truffle aioli and was an remarkable and delicious combination of tastes.

Everything was served in an elegant and beautiful manner.
