Description: Chef and owner Frank Crispo opened Crispo Restaurant in the heart of Chelsea and the West Village in the summer of 2002. Our 150 seats create a lively, warm and friendly atmosphere where you can enjoy our signature Northern Italian cuisine. We were nominated in 2002 for "Best New Restaurant" by Time Out magazine, and received an award for "Best Spaghetti Carbonara" by New York Magazine in 2004. Food is not our only passion. Our extensive wine list covers the major regions of Italy and several other countries beyond. For enthusiasts, we have a full bar stocked with grappa, amaros, aperitifs and digestifs. Come join us for dinner in our main dining room, or in our outdoor garden space. It remains open year long. With this newest addition to Crispo Restaurant you will truly feel like you are not in New York.

“Best spaghetti and meatballs!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 April 2012

This is a cozy little restaurant in Manhattan with great ambiance. The food was wonderful. The service was not so much. It took a very long time to place our order and an extremely long time to get our food. If you want to go out for an evening and have a relaxing pleasant evening this is a good place to go. If you're in a hurry, you may want to choose a different restaurant.

“Delicious food in a nice atmosphere!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 April 2012 via mobile

We had a group of six and we all loved the food. We ate in the garden, which is enclosed in colder months. I can imagine it is lovely in the summer. We had a salami platter and risotto balls as appetizers-all were devoured but the risotto balls were a particular hit. I had the fish special which was light and delicious. One of our group was pleased to find gluten free pasta on the menu and he enjoyed it.  Another in our group had duck confit gnocchi-the lightest gnocchi I have ever tasted!
We know this place gets crowded so we made an early reservation. Only a few tables were taken at 5:30 but it was filling up when we were leaving.  The entree portions are not very large for the price, however, the dessert portions are more generous. I ordered biscotti and shared two of the four large pieces. The bill was roughly $60 a person for 3 shared apps, 6 entrees, 3 shared desserts and 1 bottle and two glasses of wine. I recommend this place and plan to return.

“Authentic, romantic Italian”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 April 2012

Would return. Top pull is the food - really authentic Italian food. There were stuffed courgette flowers as a special and they tasted as good as the mother-in-law's. Great chicken Milanese and good pasta. Service was pretty good although they seemed a bit rushed. Our waitress excellent, delivering waiters less interested. We were in the second room and I'd have preferred the first; the waterfall didn't do it for me! Great food, good service, interesting ambiance.

“Very good meal”

Just recently had dinner at Crispo. The restaurant was busy but the food came out in a timely manner. The food was very good and reasonably priced. I will definitely be returning.
