This restaurant came recommended by friends. They were so right to recommend. It is a small quaint Italian restaurant with wonderful waiters. Our waiter reminded one of the ladies in our group of her grandfather. He was knowledgeable and helpful and had great suggestions. The food was delicious. Everyone was happy with their meal. The location was excellent, too! I will return.

This is a relatively small restaurant, with a "family" type of ambiance. The bus staff put down things within seconds of being seated. The waiter was quite good, although as the number of people in the restaurant increased it was harder to find him. He was pleasant though.

Food is very good, and while we had heard it was expensive, it wasn't that high. Wine list was a bit of a problem because the wines they had on the list were out, and a new wine list hadn't been printed, but the waiter made a very good recommendation and the price below the level we had indicated, which was a nice surprise. You can ask for half orders of pasta, so we wanted to further taste the food here, so we got half orders which are also half the price for a full portion.

The tables as bit close, but that is also NYC. We got there early and it was reasonably quiet in the beginning, as the restaurant filled up, it was noisy, just like most NYC restaurants. A number of patrons were obviously regulars...which is a good indication about the consistency of the food.

Definitely will go back!

Great location in Mid-town, old school feel to this place. Wait staff great. Chef came by table to check on us after he prepared a delicious meal and was very nice.
good value for NYC - dinner, apps and drinks all around $100.

For almost 20 years, I have been traveling to midtown Manhattan on business. For that same time, Nanni's on 46th has been my go-to Italian spot. Over so many years, and so many visits, the blush of novelty fades. However, this place still delivers.

Pros: broad menu, great pricing for NYC, proximity to Midtown, ability to always get a table, friendly and knowledgable staff who have been there "forever" and know the food.

Cons: can be a bit tight and noisy during peak dining hours.

Give Nanni's a try - start out with pasta and Nanni's sauce, perhaps with a side of cheese and salami, finish with the veal and a simple Chianti. You'll be glad you did.
