Description: America's first fine dining restaurant, Delmonico's has been serving fine American food to New York's connoisseurs in its premier location at the heart of Manhattan's financial district. Since opening at 56 Beaver Street in 1837, Delmonico's has been renowned as the birthplace of the Delmonico Steak, Delmonico Potatoes, Eggs Benedict, Lobster Newburg, and Baked Alaska. Upon opening, the original Delmonico's offered then-unheard of luxuries such as private dining rooms, an extensive wine cellar, innovative cuisine, and, above all, warm, personal service. Today, the restaurant continues to honour its heritage with the same warm hospitality and fine cuisine. Delmonico's menu features a range of traditional dishes in addition to the prime Delmonico Steak, aged to perfection in the aging room. Having introduced many dishes and dining customs to America, to dine at Delmonico's is to experience history.

I went to this restaurant on a business dinner, and I would definitely go back. This is where the Delmonico steak was named. The restaurant is well appointed and has the proper steak house ambiance. The food was wonderful, and a great experience.

This is one of the best steak restaurants in NYC. We had the 60 days dry aged bone in and the Delmonico’s. Both juicy and delicious. Cocktails and Fries are also great. We love the nicely decorated restaurant and the super friendly staff. High value for the money. Strong recommendation!

We were with a group of about 2 dozen people. Following a visit to the Ellis Island National Museum of Immigration, we had lunch at Delmonico's.
Excellent lunch of squash lobster soup, rock cod and pumpkin pie ala mode.

Excellent service. Excellent food (a number dishes were developed there, e.g. Eggs Benedict, Baked Alaska). Excellent room and connected bar (both classic scenes). Excellent location (classic Wall Street location; be sure to walk to the Bull and the Girl).

You could say that this restaurant is the archetype of upscale steakhouses. Dim lights, rustic decor, old school atmosphere. The steak was well prepared and delicious (although a bit overboard with the seasoning). We also tried the baked alaska and even though I found it too sweet for my taste, it does have an impressive and unique presentation. And it is always nice to try something new to see what all the fuss is about. The service was plain ok, and the pricing was as expected for this type of restaurant. Overall, I believe I would prefer other steakhouses over this one, however, I have to admit that Delmonico's is so unique and beautiful that makes it a choice worth visiting.
