I have been going to Haru for years now, and I just went there last night in the theater district since a group of us were going to a snow. This is a solid choice for sushi in. NY. Nice atmosphere and good service, too. Strongly recommend!

Great place to grab a bite between shows. They have an extensive happy hour menu with reasonable prices on food and drinks. Enough options to share among friends to make a meal.

Went for pre-show dinner and couldn't be happier. Sushi was delicious and so was the saki. Wait staff was very nice, even though we got a little confused as to who was actually our waitress. What put this place over the top was the manager. Accidentally forgetting the show tickets, he was nice enough to print them out for us so we wouldn't be late. I thought this was above and beyond service and we were very thankful for the help

Haru has branches scattered around the city and in Boston so I've gotten to try more than one branch. All have excellent sushi at decent prices and good service. This was my first visit to the Times Square branch. Our group ordered a variety of different selections -- some of which weren't on the menu-- and the waitress made sure we got what we'd like. Only one type of fish wasn't available that evening, but almost every other option was fresh and in stock. The restaurant wasn't super busy so we were able to linger and enjoy good conversation over dessert.

Not really what we expected. We had visited another branch which was much better. Sashimi was quite tasteless and dry. Chicken Yakishoba was clearly reheated. Sushis and makis were ok, but not outstanding.
Positive point: we were 10 people and they gave us a long table on the first floor. Negative point: very noisy.
Next time, we'll try another branch.
