We visited this place as a couple during our NY stay as upon an internet search it came up highly rated and local to our hotel.
There was a majority of Indian staff and customers, which we found quite promising and raised our expectations of quality Indian cuisine.
The food was served promptly by attentive waiters.
We had a seek kebab starter and a chicken tikka starter because we didn’t want to be too adventurous and buy something we weren’t sure we would like. They were beautiful, cooked to perfection and tasty.
The mains came quickly after our starter plates were taken, we had between us a Ludhiana curry and a konkan shrimp curry. The Ludhiana was a chicken curry which was tasty and well-cooked. The konkan shrimp curry was surprisingly overly peppery which was a shame because it was otherwise well-cooked with nice prawns in it. I couldn’t finish it because the pepperyness took over. The rice was as good as rice gets.
We ordered the trio of ice cream as dessert to share, it came with a scoop of coconut, pistachio and a scoop of guava ice cream which looked and sounded beautiful. I love different ice cream flavours and they were lovely but for some strange reason the guava ice cream was incredibly salty... it was a strange experience and I’m not sure if it was meant to be that way.
I would go again and try their other dishes.
