Owner description: If you want to step back into a bygone era of the small, cozy elbow touching Harlem parlor, with live "in your face" outrageous jazz musicians, you must come to see Bill Saxton, international world class sax man and lead of the Harlem All Stars

This little jazz club has been around since the 20’s and that is what makes it such a unique experience. It is small so you have to reserve ahead of time to get one of the few seats. Bring your own drinks. The sound is great. The house band plays every weekend. Such a highlight on our trip to NYC

We really enjoyed this intimate setting, two rooms of the downstairs home of the owner. The jazz was great, best we heard in Harlem. No food is served. You can bring your own drinks. Bill Saxton is a great saxophonist. The night we went the pianist, bassist, and drummer were also excellent. Though apparently attended mainly by tourists, it's a place to go to listen to music.

The place is small and tight but the music is fine and full of light. It is serious jazz with Bill's magical touch. Enjoyed every minute of the one hour performance. You can take your own wine.

How often do you see a restaurant or bar that only has 4 and 5* reviews...?

I'd say never, so I agree with the previous comments made about Bill's Place here. This place is unique, enterprising, and provides the most wonderful night of intimate jazz at its best.

It doesn't matter if you like the style of music personally, there's something magically transformative about being seated so close to real unadulterated maestros at work.

Bring your own alcohol, a warm reception, and a joyful atmosphere.

A must see for music lovers visiting NY!
