The location is great, at a good price. We paid 155$/night for two double beds, parking include. The rooms are fine, they are not brand new but they're ok. Would go there again.

The only thing stopping me giving the Holiday Inn Midtown 5/5 is the fact they recommended that we take a Go Airlink NYC Shuttle from JFK to Manhattan - I took their word for it without checking any more review sites for information on the Go Airlink NYC Shuttle's awful service. If staying here, or anywhere else in Manhattan, take a taxi, it's so worth the extra money.

Anyway, the hotel was great. We booked it as part of a flight/hotel deal, based on it being pretty low price and having free Wifi. We thought we were going to have really budget accommodation and were pleasantly surprised. The room was pretty big, the TV was ok and all bathroom facilities were great. The hotel had all the different facilities you could need, and let us store our luggage for free for a few hours between checkout and when we had to leave Manhattan. The staff were friendly and the location was brilliant - we'd never been to NYC before and found ourselves in walking distance of most things, and very close to subway stations to get us to the rest. Highly recommended.

Oh, but we were in the room next to the lift, which was a big noisy. We were so tired from sightseeing that it wasn't an issue but if you go for business then request somewhere further from the lift!

Room Tip: If you value your sleep, ask for somewhere away from the noisy lifts!

Stayed here for 12 days in two different rooms (because we went outside NYC for 3 days in between), King and Queen, in both South and North tower. It was a pleasant experience. Rooms are big, beds are very comfy. Obviously the King room was better, big and spacious with a huge bed. It was in south tower, 8th floor but the internet speed was way low. But in the North tower on the 17th floor, speed was good. It was a queen room, smaller yet a very comfortable bed. I read in the reviews that the south tower was better, since renovated and less noisy. But our room in North tower was equally better and not noisy at all. perhaps because it was on the top floor.

Now the drawbacks, there is no refrigerator in the room which could be a problem in summer if you have child and wants to use it for baby food and milk. For drinks there are vending machines and ice dispenser on every alternate floor, so cold drinks can be taken cared for.

There is a deli (Roosevelt Gourmet Deli) around the corner (towards Hudson river) for great hot breakfast. Starbucks and Morton Williams (supermarket, also has a buffet meal for 6.99 per pound, we had dinner take outs there, great food) and pharmacy is within 5 minutes walking distance. Also Flame restaurant we tried for dinner, great one. Columbus Circle subway station (and Central Park) is the nearest, also with 7 minutes walk, another one 57th subway station, within 8-9 minutes.

We had nice afternoon strolls with the baby in Central Park, Hudson river and at night took the broadway towards time square, had little breaks and coffee, snacks in between. It was a great great experience. All because of the amazing location of the hotel, very central yet away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Room Tip: For a little more money and with a baby I recommend the King room. For a better internet speed, perh...

I stayed at the hotel for 1 week on a birthday/family trip, we had 2 double bed rooms, 12th floor of North Tower, signs indicated the North Tower would be renovated over the next 6months as slightly dated and old fashioned. Overall thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the rooms were plenty big enough for 3 people, beds very comfy for hotel beds! Clean towels daily and fresh toiletries. Found the concierge desk to be most helpful when planning our days and sight visits. Bell staff and reception were very attentive. Hotel is about 10mins walk from Broadway/Times Square & Central Park, subway about 5mins away. Hotel was just far enough away from the busy areas to have abit more quiet. Nice Deli on the corner, plenty of cafes near by for morning fry up. When in New York you don't need a fancy 5* room as your hardly ever in it, this hotel is perfect with cleanliness, price and overall satisfaction, definitely recommend it and would stay again. Happy holidays in Holiday Inn 57th St :))

Room Tip: Rooms on South Tower have apparently already been renovated.

Hotel was at a perfect location. We (senior citizens) walked to Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Times Square and the theater. Breakfast at the Gotham Cafe in the hotel was good and large. Physical fitness center in the hotel had many different types of exercise equipment which we used. There were two large drawbacks. The room was chilly the entire time we were there. Even speaking to the hotel engineer did no good. However, we were supplied with two blankets to keep the chill off us at night. The other drawback was the bathtub with only one rim on the side. We had to hang onto the side bar to get in and out of the tub. Otherwise it was a nice hotel. I would recommend it to others.

The hotel is well-located. It is close enough to the theaters – most are a few blocks away to about 15 away. It is also far enough from all the hustle and bustle. You can actually walk around this neighborhood without being stuck in the middle of a mob of people. The area was very safe. It had a little more of a residential feel. The hotel was fine. There was a sign that my side of the hotel was going to be renovated soon. The bed was comfy although not as firm as I would have liked. The room was on the large side for a 3-star in NY. The bathroom was spacious and had a tub/shower combo. This was one of the cleanest hotels that I have ever stayed in. There wasn’t even dust in the corners! The one negative was the noise. Next to my room was the maids’ area and next to that were the elevators. There was some banging noise that was annoying when I was awake. However, I was able to sleep without being disturbed. The other guests were another story. There were a lot of noisy people staying here. I don’t know if this was random or if this is the normal clientele. One thing to be aware of, at least in my room, is that the bathroom floor is slippery. When I walked with socks I was sliding. I’m not sure why, maybe they polished the tile?? The room included an iron/ironing board & a hair dryer. There’s a cute bar in the lobby. If I got a great price again I would probably stay here although it would not be my first choice. The hotel was great but the noise would keep me from returning.

Room Tip: Away from the elevator

After reading other reviews before coming here I was nervous about mice and bed bugs. We had booked the room and couldnt cancel so my expectations were real low, but i was pleasantly surprised! The rooms are spacious and very clean. Our bathroom was clean but in need of some cosmetic repairs. A bit stuffy and warm at first the AC was able to be turned on to cool the room off. Had drinks at the lobby bar and the bartender bought us a shot. Overall thenlocatn was great. Friendly stsff! And NO MICE OR BED BUGS
