The Hotel is well located but the service in general is not good.
The attendants were not polite enough with us.
We had a problem with the room shower that was not solved while we were hosted there.
The room we stayed didn't have a mini-bar or a mini refrigerator.

We're thrilled you found our location to be ideal, however, we regret that you had concern with a few of our Staff Members, and that, in addition, you experienced a maintenance issue while staying with us. The Department Managers have been contacted and will look into those particulars so that we may better serve you during your future stay. We are always more than happy to accommodate our guests with another room as per availability. Please let us know if you should need to change rooms for any reason upon your next stay. Also, we do have mini-refrigerators available at no additional charge. Please inquire upon Check-In. We truly wish to make it up to you by exceeding your expectations upon your next visit!

It's what you'd expect from a midtown hotel as far as amenities go (not a lot), but while small and non descript, the room was clean and satisfactory with no complaints from us. The hotel has a location that's going to be hard to beat. If you want to be in the middle of it all not a far walk from most of it. This is your place.

We're delighted you enjoyed taking advantage of our prime Times Square
location with the best Theatres and Restaurants right outside our front door! And, to make things even better, many of our rooms are in the process of being renovated. We have just introduced our ‘Signature’ Rooms on May 1st which are ‘Fully Renovated’ Rooms, equipped with coffee makers, iPod-compatible clock-radios, in-room safes, and ‘Free’ Wi-Fi and are simply gorgeous! Please feel free to view the photos online at www.edisonhotelnyc.com. In addition, the ‘Signature Suites’ (each complete with a mini fridge & a sleeper sofa) may prove more to your liking. And, you may ultimately be interested in the ‘Superior Signature Suites’ as they are more spacious and would prove more comfortable. Looking forward to seeing you again!

We were quite apprehensive about our stay here as we had read some of the bad reviews, however we really enjoyed our stay. We did email ahead to request a renovated room and we got one :) 4 of us were staying in one room with 2 queen beds and we found it really spacious. The beds and mattresses looked brand new and were really comfy and there was definitely no bed bugs, the bathroom didn't seem completely renovated but was good enough for what we needed. We were on the 4th floor and only heard a little street noise but could sleep well without it disturbing us.
The location was amazing, half a block from times square.
We had read that the gift shop was cheaper that most in the area and after shopping around - it was!
Most of the staff were really friendly except for one of the ladies on the front desk with long dark hair - she wasn't friendly and quite robotic in how she talked to us.
All in all we had an amazing time and would definitely stay again and recommend to others

We're so delighted that we exceeded your expectations and that the spacious, renovated room served you well! It's also wonderful to hear that you enjoyed our prime location, where Times Square is literally right outside our front door! And, we're glad our Gift Shop proved economical as I'm sure you preferred spending your hard earned money on the legendary Theatres and 5 Star Restaurants in the area. We are so pleased that our staff provided you with friendly, hospitable service. We pride ourselves on our high standard of Guest Relations and are always thrilled to hear positive feedback in that area. However, your concern regarding one of our Front Desk Agents has been brought to the attention of our Front Office Director and will be addressed immediately. Please know this is not Hotel standard and that we will make every effort to ensure this does not occur again. We truly look forward to seeing you again soon! Hi this is the first time ever reviewed a hotel but felt i had to after reading some of the reviews after booking the Edison! I thought i had made a mistake and worried about the hotel.Well i need not have worried do not believe all the bad reviews the hotel is fab.

It is central to everything buses, times square, theatres could not fault the location.

We had a room on the 9th floor looking out front hotel, yes there was some noise but it was liveable and added to the ambience you are in new york!! Two queen sized beds very comfy clean, and yes the bathroom was no bigger than broom cupboard as in one review but spotlessy clean towels etc-rooms cleaned daily.

The staff were friendly and very helpful at all times it was a pleasure to stay at the hotel and would stay there again and recomend to friends.

There is a fab 24hour shop nxt to hotel check it out for cofffee teas sweets snacks and do a hot buffett chinese food great when get back to hotel after late night takeawy.

Just to say and no did not get paid for doing this reveiw!!

thankyou to all the staff for an enjoyable stay to a fab holiday.

Sherril and Mum Audrey

Room Tip: Room 914 was fab overlooking entrance hotel bit noisy but good to hear being in new york. Close the windows bit quieter. Hotel had free service for safety deposit box.

This was our first trip to NYC and I had done a lot of investigating before booking

The Hotel is in a superb location, smack bang in the Middle of Times Square yes I agree with all other reviewers it is Old and dated but it's kept very clean, and I found the staff friendly we paid extra for a delux Room and were given 705 on the 7th Floor, Check in was painless and the security factor of having to show your key card before accessing the lifts ws an added bonus.

Our room was large with a big comfy Queen size Bed, Seating area and dressing table, plus flat screen TV the bathroom was very tiny but catered for needs,

The only negative I can say re the Hotel was the Noise even though the windows were double glazed and we kept them closed every night we were woken several times by some form of noise, Saturday was Constant police sirens and people noise but 2 of the nights all night long construction work was taking place and a hammer drill going constantly at 2am wasn't pleasent so NY really is the city that never sleeps so I would highly reconmend a good pair of ear plugs.

We stayed 5 Nights and crammed so much into that time, and still didn't manage everything but it really is an ideal base. However when we go next time we would probably opt to stay nearer Central Park which seemed much quieter..

If your planning on eating out arounfd the Times Square area I would recconmend leaving the Hotel by the rear entrance and turning right towards the Scientology Church, this block is one away from the Hussle and bustle of the main Times Square and the prices tend to be cheaper some of the places added on up to 30% service charge just for 2 people. - We were looking for something typically american where the locals would eat and on eof the bell boys recconmended Smiths Bar, beleive me it looks nothing speacial but the food and drink is good quality and reasonably priced and the staff are really nice too.

If your going for the first time and doing all the tourist things like we did, I would recconmend you do the Empire State Building as early in the morning as you can. otherwise the queues are rideculous up to 4 Hours dring peak time, The same with the Rockafella centre we did the Empire early morning 8am and Top of the Rock at 11pm to get the Night Day shots We pre booked our tickets online before going as I hate nothing more than standing in line.

Another must do is the walk over the Brooklyn Bridge this is free and you can get some great shots of NY Financial district and Liberty

NYC is my new Faverite City and I can't wait to go back - but will need a quieter area.

Hope this review has helped,
