It was our first trip to NYC. Impossible to find a hotel room under $200. I finally came across the Hotel Edison which was $225 for a mini-suite. Decided to book it right away, as it seems other hotels were all booked. Upon checking in at the Hotel Edison, they could not find our reservation! I dug to the bottom of my luggage to find the hotel confirmation I had printed. They entered the reservation #, and low and behold, no reservation! Great, now what? The attendant at the front desk was extremely nice and helpful. She upgraded us to a 2 room suite! Wow, I couldn't have been more happier, this is going to be a huge room, or so I thought. Yes, it was 2 rooms, and had 2 TV's. I was expecting a king size bed, but it only had a queen. Bathroom extremely small, but the shower actually had water pressure. This room was also on the 18th floor. Rooms definitely in need of some renovation. The lobby was very nice and clean and looked more of an upscale hotel. Had a small gift shop, and 2 restraunts. Obviously this is an older hotel, but the price was right, and the location superb. I would stay here again.
