The property itself is amazing as it is historic and with this characteristic the work going in to maintain is quite involved. The location is perfect if you are looking to be in the heart of absolutely everything. We stayed in the 18th floor in a king signature room with a terrace. The room was impeccable and I am very picky. I felt very comfortable in the room and had brought disinfectant wipes just in case but didn’t use them. The bed was comfortable we had lots of hot water and the hotel supplies you with coffee and water which I think is very thoughtful. The one thing I wasn’t happy with was the terrace as when we got into the room it was not accessible as it is locked and we were not provided with the key. When I inquired they said there was a special form and we needed security to unlock the door. The hotel felt it was my responsibility to inquire on it and I felt it was their responsibility to advise me upon check in. I should not have bothered with this feature as it was not utilized. The grab and go is perfect for those times when you want to be out quick and the voucher with the $5 extra is also nice for those times when you want to sit down and start your day out more relaxed. It is Manhattan so things are expensive and to be expected. I ordered the bacon on the side as it was a suggestion of the bus person and it was $8 for three slices lol but it was awesome bacon.
The front desk would be the one area that I would say requires some tweaking. We checked in the day after the tree lighting so we knew it was going to be busy but the hotel had 2-3 people on the desk for 3 o’clock check in and you line up across the aisle from the front desk. With this situation people would go right to the desk without lining up at the staff didn’t
correct them. So not enough staff on and they need an ambassador to control traffic so everyone is getting the attention required.
The hotel hosts a cocktail hour Tuesday and Friday which I think is also a special touch.
So would I go back? Absolutely! I would learn from my latest visit and hope to have an even better time next year:).More
