Very nice hotel in a great location. Great bagel places nearby for a less pricy breakfast option. Also a good variety of restaurants in the area. Rooms were clean and beds were comfy. Close to Central Park and subway.

Staff wonderful! Liz the concierge very helpful. Front desk willing to heat my eye patch every day in the microwave for my dry eye condition! That was most helpful to me. Happy hour wine a lovely touch. Rooms very clean. Beds super comfortable and no street noise! Nice Matin a great restaurant! Close to everything and metro a breeze to use and to get to!

The Lucerne is in a great neighborhood at 79th and Amsterdam on the Upper West Side. Lots of restaurants and restaurants and stores. The subway is a block away. My room was spacious by New York standards -- lots of room for work, storage, and sleep. Bathroom was big, too. Very clean and well appointed. Keurig coffee machine for your morning joe. Everyone was friendly -- I only stayed one night and did not require much in the way of services, so I can't really comment too much on service except to say that the front desk and porters in the lobby were friendly. Both check in and check out were very smooth -- took a minute. Altogether a nice stay.

This is an excellent hotel. The rooms were pricey, but it is New York, and there are not that many options for hotels on the Upper West Side (near the Natural History Museum), and the room we booked was in fact a large two-room suite, beautifully appointed and very comfortable, with an excellent shower (not always the case in New York). The staff were charming and efficient, and the attached restaurant, Nice Matin, provides an excellent (not too expensive) breakfast. We had our car valet parked, which worked just fine, but you can self-park across the street if you wish. All in all a most pleasant stay. The one thing that could be improved is the phone, whose automatic buttons (for front desk etc.) do not work as advertised. You need to dial the numbers manually not by the express buttons.

Love the location and convenience of this hotel, and the room was clean and comfortable. I travel with a toddler, and it's great to have a small suite with a minifridge and microwave so we can settle in at night for a quiet evening. My only minor quibble is that I could hear the people through the wall in the room next door, but only briefly - they may have been inordinately loud, as it was otherwise quiet.

Front desk and concierge were great, let me check in at 10 am because they had a suite available! This was a quick spur of the moment weekend, but we'll be back in December! Love the proximity to the museums, park and subway, and for parents' info, there is a playground two blocks down Amsterdam.

Great stay, wonderful staff and service.

Room tip: High floor probably quieter.
