I had stayed in this hotel 15 years ago so it was a nostalgia selection. The staff were helpful and the foyer welcoming. We wanted a king room so were in the east wing - a bit of a maze but staff showed us the way. The room was clean and spacious with a tiny but newish bathroom. I did not master having a shower with a constant temperature - I was screaming at boiling or freezing water.

You don't spend much time in your room but facilities are basic. No fridge, no coffee machine. I guess you get what you pay for. I booked on their website so was eligible for free wifi which was a bonus.

You are close to absolutely everything and there are so many local eateries to try. The down stairs cafe has a good breakfast menu although staff are a bit abrupt. But I find that just part of being in NY.

I stuffed up my booking dates and the staff could have penalised me a days fees but were very understanding and accommodated us as far as they could.

Yes it was an okay stay but maybe I'll try somewhere else next visit.

Spring Break 2012 with the kids was wonderful in New York City! We stayed at the Wellington Hotel on 7th street. Not a bad $$, but using our rewards was even better. Our room was "ok". Went in the month of April so we didn't need heat or air. But through the evenings we heard alot of "banging" on the pipes, like it could have been the heat "trying to go on". But as many know, New York is the city that never sleeps. Wasn't so bad. The location is wonderful! You can walk to Central Park, Times Square, Rockafeller Center, many cool attractions and you can pick up the double decker tour buses right at the corner! Location is what it was all about for us!

Room Tip: Ask about the view out your window. We did not have a good view at all.

My daughter and I stayed 2 nights, dirty, dirty and not clean. Had to call for clean towels, the ones in bathroom were from previous guests. Smelled, dusty, afraid to sleep on sheets, bed bugs maybe. Rude staff, no info in room about hotel. Never again. Great location but many other hotels in area.

This was our third visit to the Wellington Hotel and once again we had a brilliant time. The hotel is in a prime location for Times Square and Central Park, being only 5 minutes in either direction to these 2 attractions. Rooms very comfortable and we were on the 23rd floor and were lucky enough to have a balcony so we could see Times Square and Central Park. The hotel has a diner/restaurant next door which is very reasonably priced. You do have the option of a free deposit box that is kept behind the reception area. Room was clean and tidy and bathroom well stocked with towels etc.

Room Tip: You do get a little noise if you are sleeping at the front of the hotel but it is New York!

Rooms were basic. we travelled in June and the weather was very hot, but the room had a great air con which we had on all day and returned to a nice cool room in the evening! safes available in reception area. staff happy to keep bags before travel if travelling late after check out and gave you a key to use private toilets to freshen up after a hot day before going to the airport. very good location, turn left out the door and its a few blocks to times square, turn right, few blocks walk to central park

At first glance and with the review ratings it looked like a decent hotel at a decent price. When I walked into the room it was tiny, then there was a huge stain on the carpet, then the pull down window shade wouldn't stay down (it would only stay down after I piled up the phone books with the bible with the iron placed on the pull down shade), then the pipes in the bathroom made noise constantly even if I wasn't in there with water running, then the shower head would shoot water everywhere, then the the air conditioner (whether it was on or off) every once in a while would sound like a mechanical cat barfing, then to top it off during the middle of the night when i had the air conditioner on it would go from working fine to pumping out HOT air. I should have stayed somewhere else for the price they charged me.

Me and my husband stayed at this hotel in October 2011. I booked this for him as a surprise for our 10th wedding anniversay through lastminute.com
We loved flying with virgin I would def recommond. Hotel was lovely on arrival. Friendly staff. Our room was pretty spacious, much bigger than I thought and lets face it with New york your not spending any time in the room apart from sleeping after a busy day. It was pretty niosey from traffic outside, but due to location of this hotel your in the middle of times square and central park so prefect and you just have to put up with it. It is after all the city that never sleeps. I paid little extra to have breakfast and wasn't too bad. The little cafe situated at the side of the hotel is where you eat. Must remember to get your vouchers for breakfast as we didnt so had to go to reception to collect. Was a omelette with sausage or bacon. Was enough to start our day off.
We had the best time in New york and would love to go back again and i would stay at this hotel for the location was prefect.
