We spent two nights at The Spencer House and it was fabulous. Mary took care of us even before we checked in. She asked if we were visiting Cumberland Island and we arranged a prepared lunch; which was very good. When we arrived, we had a tour and checked into a beautiful room. Everyone here is extremely nice and the accommodations and food are wonderful!!!

My girl friend and I spent one night at Spencer to celebrate her birthday. We arrived early in order to due the early excursion to Cumberland Island. We were greeted warmly, was taken on a brief tour in order to familiarize us with the accommodations and pleasantly sent on our way with a prepared lunch for the trip. We returned after check in and felt as though we arrived home. The Inn is decorated with antiques, every room having their own unique character. Our room was beautifully decorated and we were able to enjoy a few movies from the Inns collection of dvds. All in all, Mary, Mike and the entire staff made our visit memorable and I highly recommend that you visit asap.

Room Tip: Visit their website and choose. The descriptions and photos are true to what you will get.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay with Mary Neff and her staff at Spencer House. The room was quite and I slept better there both nights than I do in most traditional hotels when on the road. Their breakfast selection was delicious and if you are there for the French Toast, don't pass it up or their homemade granola for the fruit and yogurt. Walking distance to several restaurants and shops. I am certainly looking forward to my next visit with them whether for business or personal pleasure.

Spencer House was perfect. We stayed 2 nights and loved it. Everyone was so friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. The emails to check on us and if we needed anything else for our stay was wonderful and thoughtful too. We enjoyed our visit to Cumberland Island and thank our host at Spencer House for the wonderful lunch and tips about taking the walking tour. It made the visit to the island more enjoyable. Would love to visit again.

We were traveling back home from a bustling 4th of July week in the Outer Banks of NC, spent with family, to our home in Gainesville FL. We took a chance and called the Spencer House from the road in SC...Lucky us, they had a vacancy! When we told them that we were traveling with 2 surfboards that would need to be secured...No problem! We arrived after spending almost 12 hours on the road. Mary greeted us and gave us a quick tour of the immaculate and beautiful house. Then she got us and the surfboards comfortably situated. We were given recommendations for dinner and decided to try the Riverside Café. We asked if we needed to change from our shorts and t-shirts and we were assured that we did not need to worry, everything was very casual. YEA! After a delicious meal of Greek food we used the complementary voucher that Mary gave us and visited the charming Blue Goose for a glass of wine and a beer. After a good nights sleep (room temp could have been a bit cooler) we had a wonderful breakfast courtesy of Mike.We headed home and plan to go back at some point to visit Cumberland Island.
