Exploring this nature preserve is fun and educational. Plenty of birds and native plants in this salt marsh...not buggy in January but I bet repellent in needed in warmer weather. Boardwalks let you view up close without damaging the environment. And it’s free!

There is no better way to explore the mangrove swamps then by kayak and Robinson Preserve has a 3-5 mile water trail that is easy to navigate and takes you through a mangrove tunnel to Perico Bayou and Tampa Bay. There is a mild current which is dependent on the tide. This is a birders paradise.

Robinson's Nature Preserve is a great place to enjoy the out of doors. While walking or bicycling the paths you will see wildlife including rabbits, birds and turtles. There are eagles too!

I've been there twice. Once on a bike trip on well marked and groomed trails. The land is flat as it encompasses as much water as land. The second trip was a dog walk, as much of the park is pet friendly. We climbed the observation tower to get a good view of the waterways that twist throught the mangroves. A great place for kayaking and paddleboarding.

This is a hidden gem within this part of Florida. If I lived here, I would frequent this preserve often. You can walk for exercise and still see the natural flora, bird life and fish. Advantages include free parking and admission, well marked trails and a variety of points to stop and view the water and surroundings. The tower stop gives great elevation to view the preserve itself and out to Anna Maria Island and Sarasota. Lots of families with kids on bikes.
