This was the first visit to the Sands Casino Hotel. Because we travel with a wheel chair, accessibility is always paramount. From the external transfer to willing staff to a fully accessible room -- all done well. The only downside, although not insurmountable, is the distance from the hotel to the casino. (We parked first in the casino parking lot and ended up having to move the car to the front of the hotel. Fortunately, the mall that connects the hotel with the casino is not very long.

I must say that the hotel staff who take care of the rooms are one of the best that I have encountered. We checked in, went to the room and needed to request extra blankets and towels. These were brought quickly with an offer to bring or assist if needed. Very well done.

The Sands Resort is IMO, not really a resort - It’s a casino, a mall and a bunch of restaurants. Believe it or not, the mall is very good with nice higher end shops and they are priced very fairly, actually in some instances - cheap. This is not a place I go to gamble, its just not an inviting atmosphere. The restaurants vary. Where the place excels is the entertainment is excellent and tickets seem to always be fairly priced. I also love the hotel - its nice and its comfortable.

Please drive around the hotel and don't park in covered area. If you do you need to wait for a guard to walk your family through the casino. Once we found the hotel we were greeted nicely and I asked if there was an up grade. She just said you can get 2 beds if you want. I asked if the King room has a pull out sofa because the website says it does but the photos don't.She said yes, then asked another front desk worker to make sure and they both said yes.So we get into the room and nope! So we called down and first they said we can get a cot for $25/night, after a few minute discussion 10 minutes later someone came and brought us to a double room. In the morning it snowed and the roads home were a mess with accidents so we called to see if we can do a late check out....nope don't offer it! Really? And they are a 4 diamond AAA hotel?? The hallways from the casino to the elevator are very quiet with no guards and I didn't feel very safe walking by myself at 11 pm. The wait staff at the Emeril Seafood threw our food on the table, spilling my wine when pouring, desserts were just awful! The only staff member who acted nice was a gentleman at the Cyberquest when my son picked his prize. And the guards, they were very nice. We will not be coming back.

The room was slightly expensive but that is expected of a casino on a Saturday night. The room was very big, modern, updated, and clean. Check in and check out was crowded but the service was efficient. Clean towels, sheets, and a huge bed. We were very satisfied with our stay. Recommended hotel.

First the signs to get you there are almost non existent. Second waited and waited at hotel valet. Had to go into the hotel and find the valet.Next only one employee checking customers in at peak check in time. Room was spacious and clean except for peeling paint in the bathroom ceiling. Bed too soft for me. A long walk through a shopping mall to get to the casino. It is a scary walk back to your room late at night when the mall is closed an no security personnel in site. The gambling sucked. The restaurants were good The entertainment in the Molten lounge was excellent.
