“It's simple - what you see is what you get.”
Reviewed 25 February 2012

The Church is simple. Based on it's religious affiliation and the time period, that is fitting I suppose. You can see the pew where Betsy Ross and other famous people sat. But otherwise the view of the place that is the profile picture for the venue on this site is about all there is to see. The cemetery is a bit of a walk away. A guide and shop keeper were present in the church to answer specific questions if you had them, but there were no planned tours when I was there. It's free ($2/3 donation accepted).

“Beautiful Church”
Reviewed 14 February 2012

The Christ Church is a must to see if you are into history. This church has been frequented by many a founding father and is absolutely beautiful. The man on duty was very knowledgable not just about the church but about everything! We learned a great deal about Philadelphia from him and got to ring the old bell in the back!

“Beautiful, historic and you need a guide or guidebook!”
Reviewed 12 February 2012

Toured for the first time with an out-of-town friend (I'm from the city) and the church is beautiful! The man at the church shop when we were there (not a typical tourist day/time) was very helpful as impromptu guide to both the church as well as in giving us a sense of the overall culture of that time period. Because it's still a functioning congregation, there aren't a lot of tourist frills to the inside - merely small metal plaques marking pews for famous dignitaries like Washington. If you're not lucky enough to have an interested volunteer waiting like we were, you would benefit from a guidebook at least or an actual guide - and please note the real candles in the chandelier - they still light them regularly!

“A hidden gem”
Reviewed 5 January 2012

The oldest church in the colony, it houses a memorial to the first president of the united states (and not George Washington).

“must see”
Reviewed 3 January 2012

Regardless of whether you are religious or not, this is a must see. There is so much history here and this has been a continuously running church for a very, very long time. We enjoyed our time here and picked up some souvenirs in the attached gift shop.
