“A good place for kids to spend a few hours”
Reviewed 8 April 2012

It was great for my 9 year old. Everything is about touching or experimenting. A little confusing to get around. Fee is not to high. They have their IMAX theatre for select movies. You pay for parking which was behind the Institute.

“Take the kids”
Reviewed 8 April 2012

I have been to many city's equivilant of the Phila Franklin Institute but apart from the Smithstonian ( a breed apart) none have come close to the entertainment value of the Franklin Institute.
Every area is unique and educational with a potential of having fun. Many hands on and interactive exhibits keeps the interest level hight. I would put the minimum age for a good time at around 5 and based on how much fun I have no maximum age.
Allow at least 4-5 hours to get the most out of exhibits and if you bring a lunch you could go longer.

“a wonderful place to play & learn”
Reviewed 7 April 2012

The Franklin Institute is an absolutely fantastic place to bring kids to learn & have fun at the same time...There are always new exhibits as well as standard ones that have been there for years. Make sure that you walk the kids through the giant heart!

“Great museum for kids.”
Reviewed 5 April 2012

Our kids (ages 13, 8, and 2) really enjoyed the museum. The sport challenge area was the older kids' favorite. The planetarium show (Wildest Weather) was good. The adults thought it was okay, maybe geared towards children a little too much - wasn't as good as say the science museum in Chicago.
