Here is a place to not only see the world renowned Phila. Orchestra, but also home to the Philly Pops, better than the Boston Pops, with famed conductor Peter Nero. The room where the Philly Pops plays was designed in the framework of a cello, with beautiful woods and great acoustics. If you have the opportunity to visit the Kimmel center, be amazed by the great architecture of this unique structure and try to see one of the shows at this magnificent facility. My wife try to go to at least two shows a year to see the Philly Pops.

I really enjoy going to the off broadway shows here...tickets are reasonably priced, and there's really not a bad seat in the house.

We attended a concert of organ (magnificently played by Jeff Brillhart) and the Canadian Brass - lots of fun, great acoustics, and ushers who, after intermission, let us move out from under the balcony above so we could really enjoy the sound. Caution: the back half of any tier (at least) is sound-blocked by the tier above. We didn't figure that out from the online diagrams and were disappointed - until we moved up at intermission. This is a truly lovely hall!

It's a treasure with a variety of performing groups. Both the Philadelphia Orchestra and the Philadelphia Chamber Music Society call it home and they are both outstanding.
