I am certain I could make this a 2 page review, however; I will refrain but make it worth a quick read. Ask for Elena to be your server, first and foremost. Also, if you are a party of 2, choose to dine in the wine cellar, the most romantic $15 you'll spend this year.
We have dined here on multiple occasions and the food has never been even a beat of of perfection. Wholesome, well flavored and beautifully presented we try something different on each visit. Our favorites are the Veal Saltimbocca, Lobster Ravioli, Gnocci and Goat Cheese Tortellini. Honestly, I can't even describe to you how the flavors of these dishes dance so beautifully, along with the house's namesake Chianti among the romantic setting of this hidden gem in Philadelphia's Old City. We have had many outstanding dining experiences in Philly and food is one of the reasons we love to call this place home. Don't forget the Ceasar Salad and Creme Brulee. Elena is sure to make your dining experience one of a kind with her contagious demeanor, knowledge of the menu, which is by the way, not limited to the names of the food, and her overall representation of the restaurant. Fine Dining at Mid-Range prices. Bistro Romano - you have our hearts...and our stomachs.

Friends and I had dinner at Bistro Romano the night before our marathon run. Everything ordered was delicious (salads, pasta, dessert)! We truly loved the atmosphere of the restaurant, from the exposed brick walls, amazing bar, open entry with stairs leading to seating downstairs - gorgeous! We will definitely be back!

We enjoy an evening at Bistro Romano, My Wife and I have been there a few times and just recently we brought six of our friends for our Christmas get together, everyone had a great meal, The food is excellent, unique recopies, and the service is just as good, not intrusive but for sure attentive, and the atmosphere is the best.. You can enjoy a drink before or after dinner at their bar with a piano playing, Just a great place....with the best food, doesn't get better then that.....

We decided to try Bistro for the first time tonight. Location was very easy to find, decor was very authentic and wine cellar seating was an interesting experience. We loved the environment in general and layout. We had reservations and were seated immediately. Appetizers were excellent, entrees would've have been great if they'd been cooked appropriately. We did let the server know and the manager immediately took care of us. I will say I've never seen that type of a response from a manager before in regards to taking care of their customers....he was very personable and thorough...awesome job Bistro!! Very friendly staff and my entire party agreed. The chef and manager did try to make up for everything by offering free desserts which we accepted and they were excellent. On a side note because we were in there so long waiting and then waiting some more for various things throughout the evening our total time in the bistro was roughly 2hrs....unfortunately when we finally received the check and got out to our car we were 20 mins past the time for our parking meter and got a $36 ticket!!!! Very frustrating....
