“A Nice & Relaxing Stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 February 2012

I just spent 4 nights at this hotel and it was wonderful. The staff were very courteous, while the room was spacious and kept very clean. This hotel is on South 17th Street just steps from Walnut Street. If you are planning a night out on the town this hotel is near several popular restaurants as well as the shopping district on Walnut Street. The bed was a "Sleep Number" Bed, which meant you could set how firm you wanted the mattress. I set mine all the way to 100 and had no morning back pain or stiffness. Nice hot shower too with great water pressure. Did not get breakfast included in my rate but there are several good places close by (especially Marathon on Sansom & South 16th St).
If you are looking for a nice place to stay, in a great neighborhood while not spending all your vacation $ on hotel expenses, the Warwick is defnitely worth it. I would certainly stay here the next time I'm in Philly.

A wonderful hotel at a reasonable price close to Rittenhouse Square and all the attractions. We stayed two nights using a package that included a breakfast buffet at 17 and valet parking. The breakfast buffet was excellent with a wide selection of fresh fruit, meats, bacon, sausage, make it yourself waffles, cereal, basil tomatoes, orange and other juices, as well as assorted pastries. You were served coffee at your table (in 17). The voucher for 2 for breakfast included tip and taxes and I figured added about $25 to the room cost. The regular price of the breakfast buffet is $17.95 per person plus tip tax etc. Fitness center has a number to treadmills, free weights and a 1/2 doz nautilus machines. Open 24 hours a day. The lobby is very elegant. The staff were very helpful and friendly and wanted to make your stay enjoyable. While it is possible to save some money using the nearby parking garages, if you are in and out a lot the charges would mount up. Also much easier to call and have the car right at the door. The rooms and decor at the upper floors is a little tired, but everything is very clean. This is our second stay at this hotel and would stay there again. Hint, if going or the Van Gogh exhibit, probably cheaper to book directly throught the musuem than as part of a room package.

I stayed at this hotel last time I went to Philadelphia and just loved it! It is so convienent to public transportation and the hotel itself is nice and quiet. I really enjoyed having the valet parking and the concierge was very helpful when it came to recommending areas around the city. I will always stay here when I visit Philadelphia!

Hello Rockintrixi
Glad you found our hotel to be accomodating of your needs. Others love our Rittenhouse Square location as well since we are close to museums, shopping and some of the tastiest restaurants in the city!
Sorry about the debit card issue; I'd like to point out however, that this is a banking procedure, and not a hotel policy. The hotel has no control on the hold, or the amount of the hold, or the time it takes to restore the access of those funds in your account. Upon arrival this should have been explained.
Hope to see you again very soon, and thanks again for selecting to stay with us!
We appreciate your return visit, and your post!!

Second time staying at this hotel in the past few years. Great location near shops and restaurants and close us enough for us to walk to the Philadelphia Museum of Art for the Van Gogh exhibit @ 1.5 miles away. It's an old building and the rooms are small, but we booked such a great deal through Chase Rewards (130.00 total for a Sat nite) we were okay with our room with the view overlooking the hvac system of the building next door, next to the ice machine and near the elevators ;-). Doorman and valet attendant were great; friendly and accommodating especially when hubby had to retrieve his wallet from the car. Even though there is a non existent view, when we stayed here previously we were on a higher floor facing 17th street but the bathroom was tiny. On 8th floor this time and bathroom is larger. Slight deficiencies in the room, but certainly would recommend.

Hello NJNanWeiner
You have shared an accurate recap. Our hotel is not your typical center city box, but rather a historically listed (National Register of Historic Places, 1926) and architecturally interesting building that had been converted from apartments several decades ago. What we were left with is a one of a kind lobby, an interesting collection of sleeping rooms, each with a different floor plan and no 2 rooms are exactly alike.
We're thrilled that you found our location convenient to where you needed to be, and hope to see you again very soon, whenever that next trip to Philly may occur.
Yours in hospitality,
Andy

My fiance and I arrived over Valentine's Day weekend and have been to Philly MANY times. We picked this hotel for it's location and the location is wonderful! It's surrounded by shops and restaurants.
The staff was very friendly! From the front desk to housekeeping, we always got a hello with a smile.
We were disappointed with the size and cleanliness of the room. It was very small and there was blood on the side of our tub! I can overlook a lot of things but not cleanliness!
Also, no where does it show parking information so when we drove up, we assumed we had to park the car on our own. We parked two blocks away and the next day were told that for $4 extra the hotel valet parks the car for you. Much better option! Be sure to do that if you are driving in.
STAY AWAY from the Prime Rib Restaurant inside the hotel. RUDE staff and the food is better at other restaurants, especially for the price.
Overall, we loved the location but we're happy with the hotel.
