The Gaslight Inn Bed and Breakfast

As a frequent visitor to Gettysburg I was more than surprised when I recently visited the Gaslight Inn. I had heard about it from friends but was a little amazed when I stayed there. It exceeded my expectations to be honest. Over the years I have stayed at most of the other Inns and Bed and Breakfast and would encourage others to give this Inn some consideration on your next trip to Gettysburg. The Inn Keepers were really great from the time we walked in until we left. The breakfast was awesome both mornings I was there. It's very convenient to downtown and the rooms were really nice; actually some of the nicest of any place I've stayed in a GETTYSBURG B&B. Rices were competitive. Overall a great experience.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We and our friends enjoyed a delightful two night stay at this spacious B&B, centrally located in easy walking distance to the center of town and Lincoln Square. The accommodations, all with private bath, were spacious, with comfortable beds, beautiful linens and well appointed private rooms and convenient guest parking . The central air conditioning worked so well despite the 90+ summer temperatures. Each morning we feasted on a delicious and bountiful breakfast, elegantly served on fine china. We also enjoyed a 24 hr. guest hospitality counter with hot and cold refreshments and cookies. The hosts were gracious and extremely helpful in recommending local tourist attractions and casual dining options.

Room Tip: If stair climbing is a challenge, must request a room on the main floor. Remaining rooms are located...

Very nice B&B and a great value. Enjoyed relaxing on the porches. We stayed in the Violet Room and it was bright, quiet and comfortable with room for a reading chair. The room and private bath were very clean. The Ivy Room also looked nice. Appreciated the free wifi and refreshments. Breakfasts were delicious and it was fun meeting other travelers. Good central location and walkable to the square.

My husband and I stayed here (Lily Room) for one evening while celebrating our 25th Anniversary. We would definitely stay again. The innkeeper was great! The Inn is absolutely beautiful and abounding in charm as well as comfort. The room was very nice with a jacuzzi tub and fireplace (and even a ceiling fan - something we usually really miss when away from home), comfortable bed, complimentary drinks and cookies in the main dining room and a breakfast that was far above the average breakfast fare - absolutely delicious! Really liked the location as well... off the main roads, but a short walk to many shops, restaurants and the square. Can't imagine anyone being disappointed with this Inn. Tim and Donna O'Keeffe

This place was everything I expected & More. I booked this trip as a Christmas present for my boyfriend and the Inn was extremely helpful. They were very knowledgeable about everything from where to eat to places to see down to what little shops were around. We loved the fact that the Inn was so close to everything, you walk to restaurants, the theater, coffee shops, all were within a 2 min walk.
The room was perfect! It was warm and cozy, it is everything you imagine when you think of a B&B in Gettysburg, we opted for a premium room which had its own balcony and had the weather been warmer we would have spent a lot more time on it enjoying the peace and serenity.
Breakfast was homemade and started with a plate of fruit, the tea was outstanding, and the company of the guests and the inn keepers really set high standards for the day, it was a perfect time to talk and find out all kinds of hidden joys that are in the town.
We Can't wait to come back again!

The Gaslight Inn is located two blocks from the main square at Gettysburg, Pa.
The location is wonderful as were the owners. The place is lovely. When I was there is was decorated for the Christmas season. The owners prepared and served a delish breakfast each morning and were very friendly. Our room was the Violet - small - but very nice and super clean. The entire town was friendly. I would return.

The Gaslight Inn is beautiful place to stay... we honestly could not have asked for more. We decided to take a last minute weekend trip away for our anniversary and after doing some homework... we decided to try the Gaslight Inn. We had never been to Gettysburg before for the weekend and although we were concerned about the last minute plans we were so happy at what was waiting for us!

Mike and Becky were wonderful hosts!! I also spoke to Elizabeth to make the reservation and she made things so easy. The Inn felt like you were going to visit a relative's house. It felt lived in (but not worn out) and warm. The grounds were gorgeous and after checking in Mike showed us our room and we quickly got into a conversation about our plans for the weekend. He gave us restaurant suggestions, information for parking and ghost tours and was open to answering any and all of our questions.

Because we booked last minute (we got the last room) we stayed in the Violet Room. I was happy that we still had our own private bathroom and the room size was surprisingly spacious and super clean. The house has an open patio on the ground floor but is also adorned with long balconies on the back of the house. Mike and Becky have three dogs... all of which were friendly and very welcoming.

Breakfast was also delicious! Becky and Mike served us a creme brulee french toast and it was great to visit with others and talk about our trips. Mike sat down with us at breakfast to help us plan out our day. He's full of information and passion about Gettysburg!

The Gaslight Inn is located off of one of the main roads in Gettysburg, Baltimore Street. If you walked out of the Inn and north on Baltimore St, the downtown square is just a few blocks away. This was awesome because we walked everywhere! The walk that you take out of the Inn to the square was lined with antique shops, cafes and restaurants.

We did two ghost tours (I guess we just couldn't get enough).. one with the Ghosts of Gettysburg and one at the Farnsworth House. Both spots for those ghosts tours were south on Baltimore St (around 5 blocks). The Farnsworth House ghost tour was great because we started off in the attic of the house and could really get a feel for the what it was like back during the Civil War. I would suggest doing this one if you're interested.

We plan on going back to visit Mike and Becky at the Gaslight Inn.. especially because I want to try one of the rooms with the jacuzzi tubs. Just a point of information... another couple stayed in the Clover room (with a jacuzzi tub) and they warned us that there is no shower, just the tub... so be ready to relaaaxxx.

It was a great weekend away and although I slept with the TV on (I couldn't shake the ghost stories)... the Gaslight Inn was wonderful! :)
