Owner description: The Battle of Gettysburg, a turning point in the Civil War, was the Union victory that ended General Robert E. Lee's second and most ambitious invasion of the North. Often referred to as the "High Water Mark of the Rebellion," Gettysburg was the Civil War's bloodiest battle and was also the inspiration for President Abraham Lincoln's immortal "Gettysburg Address."

I have been here a few times and find it's a great way to understand the Battle of Gettysburg, how close we came to the Union being lost, and how brutal hand-to-hand combat in war in close quarters was. Great for history buffs, and also for anyone wanting to understand American history, especially the Civil War, better.

The park was remarkable to drive around. It is humbling and beautiful. The staff at the museum was very informative and shared such great knowledge. We drove through the park twice while being there, you could spend the day as there is so much to look at.

Very good step on guide for our bus trip and good movie and cyclorama. We ate in the cafeteria which was pricey but ok and very nice but expensive gift shop.

I feel everyone should take the time and visit Gettysburg. If you stop at the visitors center you can actually ask for a tour guide to ride in your car with you! Or you can easily just take the map and drive it yourself. So many quant buildings in town also.

My wife and I took a guided bus tour of the battlefield - two hours. The driver and guide were both very knowledgeable about every inch of the grounds and were so open and approachable with regard to questions. They really brought the field alive for us. I have such a greater appreciation for the Civil War in general and this battle specifically because of this tour. Highly recommend it.
