Stayed at this hotel this past weekend with my wife and our 2 boys. As for location, you could not ask for a more centrally located hotel. Down the street in one direction was Gettysburg National Battlefield. In the other direction from the hotel was downtown Gettysburg. In between the Comfort Suites and downtown was the Soldiers National Cemetery and Cemetery Hill.
As for the hotel itself, it was clean, staff was friendly, and breakfast was good. One thing of note, is the sleeper sofa in our room was a single bed. Overall, great hotel for our first family trip to Gettysburg.

Near the visitor center/museum. Located less than 1 mile from town and far from the commercial area. Quiet neighbors (next to a historic cemetery -- yes, we looked out our window and saw the cemetery). If you're not squirmish about that, you will enjoy this very clean, lovely hotel. Friendly, accommodating staff. Indoor pool and good breakfast.

Room Tip: Back side of the hotel is adjacent to the cemetery.

This hotel is located on Baltimore Pike, adjacent to the National Cemetary and close to the entrance for the National Battlefield Park and Visitor's Center.

We had never been to Gettysburg before, so I chose this hotel based on information already posted on TripAdvisor. As suggested, I requested a room overlooking the cemetary, which is directly behind the hotel. The view was very serene, and we were not "creeped out" at the location, at all. Across the road is plenty of wide open field with cannons and various monuments. Next door is the Pike Restaurant, which was a nice place to eat our dinner one night (go to restaurant.com and get a certificate!). Right down the road in one direction is an entrance to the National Park; down the road in the other direction is Steinwahr Avem where all of the "touristy" stuff is located. All in all, the location was convenient.

The room itself was large enough for the 3 of us. The bedding was very comfortable and I have no complaints about the cleanliness of the room. It was very convenient to have a microwave and a refrigerator in the room, and both came in handy for popcorn (I brought from home) and drinks.

The bathroom was clean, the shower flow was very good and 3 of us were able to take showers, one after the other, with no hot water problem.

Breakfast was included and typical for a (free) breakfast...hard boiled eggs, sausage links both mornings, yogurt, make-your-own waffles, muffins, cereal, bread/toast, coffee/tea/juice. No complaints, as it was what I expected, no more and no less.

There is a swimming pool which we did not use. A family swimming told us it was cold, and later when we checked it was a little crowded with kids. There was no hot tub that I saw.

The desk people were all very friendly and helpful. No complaints at all. The person in charge of the breakfast was a little strange in that we were all watching the morning news and she came out and changed the channel to an infomercial station...we all kind of looked at each other, then she went back into the kitchen area. I went to the desk and asked the desk person to change it back, which she did. The breakfast woman came out and gave me the "evil eye", lol. No problem. It was just very strange.

I would recommend this hotel and would not hesitate to stay here again.

Room Tip: You can request a room facing the back of the hotel to overlook the peaceful cemetary.

My son and I travel a lot and we've stayed at all types of hotels (less expensive and more expensive) and I must say the staff at this hotel were the friendliest we've seen. We have no complaints with our stay in room 311. We were a bit shocked to see that the hotel is directly adjacent to a graveyard. Knowing that ahead of time probably wouldn't have changed our minds about lodging there, but I'm glad our room didn't face the graveyard...I've just always viewed graveyards (at night) a bit creepy. Otherwise the hotel is in a great location if you have a vehicle...it's just barely out of the downtown historic area, but just a bit too far for walking.

Room Tip: We had an odd numbered room, which faced the parking lot. I believe the even numbered rooms face th...

Very good stay. Came as a school trip in september, and the management gave us all popsicles. our room faced the famous graveyard, which was quite a shock, but fun. Beds were comfy, and great breakfast in the morning.

Room Tip: I have heard that some rooms in this hotel are haunted, as our ghost tour guide told us. So beware...

We stayed at this hotel while visiting Gettysburg on our final stop during our spring break. Our biggest suggestion is to read the previous reviews carefully before deciding to book at this hotel. This hotel may or may not work for you.

It is a clean and relatively new facility, but it is located on the property line of the Evergreen cemetery and technically on what was part of the Gettysburg battlefield. We booked this place based on the reviews that this was close to the battlefield, clean and considered the top choice in the area, not with the intention of staying practically in the cemetery. It is very close to the visitor center to Gettysburg and the main downtown area, but it saddened us to see that such a huge commercial development had been placed so close to a cemetery and battlefield.

We had two rooms,a King suite and a room with two double beds. The rooms are roomy and relatively clean. The beds are very comfortable. Rooms with an even number look right into the cemetery. The 2nd floor is really the first floor since the building is built into a hill. Our window on the second floor looked directly at the headstones in the cemetery. The walls and doors to the room are very thin and you can hear everything that is happening in the hallways. Again, if you are staying with a busload of kids, it may be noisy than normal.

The fitness center is nothing more than the picture that is provided by the hotel. One treadmill, one bike, one eliplitical machine and some weights. The room gets really hot when there is more than one person there. If it is nice weather you can run across the road into the Gettysburg battlefield and run on the roads there. The pool has been noted to be clean, but we did not use it since it was really small and there were 2 buses of high school students staying at the same time. Need I say more?

The breakfast buffet was adequate, but not the best. It has the basics of cereal, a few sweet rolls, bread, rubbery eggs and sausage. The two days that we were there, the buses of kids made it hard to get food and to enjoy eating since we were trying to find a place to sit. They were directed to sit in the ballroom area, but for some reason they didn't see all of the signs posted directing them to the area.

The desk staff were very friendly and the breakfast staff worked very hard to keep up with all of the kids in restocking food. This hotel meets average standards, however for many of the reasons listed above, we would not return to stay at this hotel.

Room Tip: Even number rooms face the cemetery. If you see Tour buses in the parking lot, you may want to reco...
