The B. Catherine Culp home is within walking distance to all the 'good eats' & shops that are around the 'hub' of Gettysburg. Owners, Wendy & Larry provided all the 'creature comforts' & everything was clean and fresh. We didn't need all three (3) bedrooms, and we used only one. However, each room was tastefully decorated. Other homes that we've stayed in, have ugly old 'grandma-style' quilts on their beds & old throw-pillows, but not the Culp House, which is classy & clean. Having two(2) toilets in the home; 1 on 1st floor ('toilet closet') underneath the stairs & 1 'full' bathroom on 2nd floor, was nice. Also, it was hotter than usual, the week we stayed, mid to upper 80's so the window AC units were great to have! We are glad that they don't allow pets as we have allergies. The period furnishings in the home are fun to look at & we imagined the life of folks living in this home in the late 1800's. Even though we are not large in stature, all of the furnishings were very sturdy; unlike some rickety 'antique' furniture that other historical rental homes had, that we have rented in the past. At night we loved to walk home after having dinner, put the door key in the front door, and open it up as if we entering our own home. We loved having a 'reserved' parking spot located on the other side of the privacy fence & the private backyard, as well. Our seven (7) night-stay in Sept. 2017 just wasn't long enough! We are looking at making a winter trip to the Culp House to see the Battlefields in the winter season!

My friends and I stayed a full week in this house during the summer heat. This house was sooo
comfortable. Each of the three bedrooms is decorated in period style and my bedroom even had a civil war era bedstead. That said, the bedding and mattresses were super comfortable and with individual room AC, nights were a pleasure. The kitchen and bath are up-to-date in every way and well-supplied. We made coffee every morning and took it out on the back porch where we enjoyed the mourning doves and rabbit! Last, the location was awesome....walking distance to everything in town and a short drive to the park. Definitely recommend staying as long as you can and look for Matt Atkinson, a Ranger at the Battlefield!
