“Location is the best and worst thing”
Reviewed 13 March 2012

The location of this hotel is right in the middle of all the action of Inner Harbor. You can easily walk to almost everything. So our first day was great. Then came bedtime. Forget sleep. Not the hotels fault, but being in the middle of everything meant a night full of police sirens, ambulance sirens, and horns. We were woken up atleast once an hour all night. And we were on one of the top floors, not even overlooking the main road.

So although the hotel is nice and the workers were friendly, I won't be back to this hotel. I may not go on vacation to sleep, but being exhausted from lack of sleep will ruin your vacation.

I recently spent two nights here with my friends for a girls' weekend. The hotel room was spacious, comfortable for four people and clean. Make a point to ask for a room on the Harbor side of the hotel, otherwise you are overlooking the roof/concrete. Breakfast is not included, but the breakfast buffet was excellent and certainly worth the price. There is also a kiosk in the lobby that serves Starbucks and light breakfast fare with an adjacent, spacious seating area. The location of the hotel is convenient for conferences, ballgames, restaurants and the Inner Harbor.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the side of the hotel that overlooks the harbor.

Stayed 2 nights for a conference, Wed. to Friday. It's easily accessible and they let me check-in at noon with no problem. Maybe the best bed I've ever slept on in a chain hotel. The room (King bed) was comfortable and overlooked Pratt St., the main road across from the Inner Harbor area. Whether it was the clientele or the building, I was never disturbed by other guests and hallway noise. You can hear the traffic and loud people on the street, but it wasn't a weekday problem of any consequence. If I had a single complaint it's that there isn't enough dresser space for more than 2-3 days, though the bedside tables will double as clothing space too.

The hotel is adjacent/attached to a pretty forgettable 4 story shopping plaza with an equally forgettable food court. However there are perfectly suitable restaurants within walking distance in either direction from the hotel and across the street at the Inner Harbor. You're also a 10-15 minute walk from Camden Yards. If you're going to go with the family, see if they have suites.

We stayed at this hotel this past weekend and enjoyed our time in Baltimore; our timing with the weather worked out well. The location of the hotel is very convenient - right on the Inner Harbor, and it's connected to a mall. There is a walking bridge above the traffic from the mall to the Inner Harbor, with more stores and restaurants. I loved the location. The front desk was very helpful and friendly. The room was nice and plush; however, there were no bathrobes or slippers, like I've received at other Renaissance hotels.

The biggest disappointment was the pool. It's a nice sized pool with a nice hottub, but it was not clean. It was not filthy, but the pool deck hadn't been mopped for days, and the dirt was accummulating. There was enough towels on 2 racks the first time we went down there, but the 2nd time we went to the pool, one of the towel racks was empty. When I told the pool attendant, he said he called housekeeping to bring more. He didn't bother telling me that there was another towel rack near the hottub; for even better service, he should have moved the towels over to the rack near the door. The pool attendant didn't even pick up the used towels from people who left the pool area. There was no water at all for drinking - the fitness center is on a different floor. With the hottub being dehydrating, you would think they would have water. The pool attendant drank his bottle of water right in front of all the people, rudely, and didn't offer to help us when we asked about water. What a worthless guy. He didn't even enforce the pool and hottub rules or clean up around the place. I don't know what he is supposed to do.

Finally, when we went to check out, the bell hop took our bags down, but he didn't give us a claim check; we wanted him to hold our bags so we could walk around the Inner Harbor some more before leaving Baltimore. When we got back to get our bags, the new bell hop didn't know where our bags were, and we had to go to the luggage room to point out our bags.

I will not stay here again; I will try the other Marriott property in Baltimore in the East Harbor; that location is just as good, within walking distance of the Inner Harbor as well.

This was my first stay at this hotel and so far it is my favorite of all the Marriotts in Baltimore. The location is central to everything and it has public parking garage below so you are not forced to use the valet or walk blocks to a public garage. The parking is $28 per night, which is pretty typical these days for a city hotel.

The property itself has been around for a number of years and the evelevators do show it, however, don't let that put you off as the rooms have all been upgraded and are very nice and large. The bathrooms have also been updated and are nice and clean. The only thing you need to know about the rooms is that the hotel is arranged in a big open square so some rooms are quite a hike from the elevators!

I stayed on the concierge level and the concierge lounge is pretty typical for a full service Marriott. They do serve a hot breakfast in the morning and it is actually quite good. At night they have a number of food options too and the quality is pretty decent.

Overall, a very good hotel. You won't be dissapointed!
