Camping here is so relaxing. Sites are large with nice views, very well maintained, clean and friendly. This is a multi purpose property with spaces for weddings that are gorgeous and gathering spots for any kind of get together you can imagine. Many trails for casual walking or hiking, horseback riding or hiking. So close to downtown it's unbelievable farm feel 5 miles away from Savannah. The beach at Tyner Island is 15 miles and easy to get to for a beach day. I would only come back here to visit this part of Georgia.

We stayed in this park two nights to see some of Savannah’s sights. From the moment we checked in until we left it was pleasant. The park itself is a farm and very roomy. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. Not a lot of trees and could get warm in the summer. If traveling with a group there is a pavilion with lighting for get togethers.

If I could have moved here I would have - who wouldn’t want to have horses and kitties and acres of farmland to wake up to - that is unless the rooster wakes you up first! This is heaven. Period. Oh yes did I mention the trail rides? The miles of trails? The super friendly people?

Red Gate was one of our favourite campgrounds on our recent roadtrip around the Southern States. The staff made us feel really welcome from booking on the phone a day in advance to chatting with us and seeming genuinely interested in what we were doing. The site is well situated for visiting Savannah and the campsite can organise lots of trips if that's what you want. The facilities are top notch - there's even a full kitchen for guest use. We really felt comfortable here - thanks to all the staff.

Was a little worried about the “mud” due to the rain. All I can say is it rained for days prior to our visit and there was no mud. Excellent Campground. Will visit again and they had great prices on propane.
