The room was gorgeous. As advertised (and told by friends), the bed is so comfortable you dont wanna ever get out. Bathroom is huge and the hot-tub is refreshing. The first night we were there the shower drain didnt work properly, but it was fixed as soon as we mentioned it to the hotel.

We had the conceirge level status so we were able to have free breakfast and afternoon cocktails/snacks. We never made it to the afternoon service, but were told it consisted of one beer/glass of wine and some light hors d'oeuvres. The breakfast was just ok. Dry cereal, bagles/croissants, fruit, water, coffee, danish and a couple other things. My biggest quip was that things often ran out pretty quickly and then someone had to bring it up to the "conceriege room." One would think that the room would be stocked better in case of shortage.

The hotel itself was also gorgeous. The restaurant was quite nice. Staff was amazing helping me get dinner reservations and an evening carriage ride for my gf and I.

Room Tip: It is important to request a room with a view of either the park or pool/garden area, if you have a...

I am so happy we stayed here rather than downtown. What a great location -- our kids loved walking around, looking at the buildings and spending time in Forsyth park. The hotel itself was kind of swanky/offbeat -- an enormous brick building with delicious sweet tea waiting in the lobby and loads of slightly alarming paintings lining the narrow hallways. I enjoyed them; one of the kids, not so much. The room was lovely and spacious; I loved the chaise to read in (with a pile of magazines nearby) and crystal lighting fixtures. The only odd thing was the bathroom. It had shutters next to the tub that opened into the room...so you can chat with your traveling companion while having a soak, I suppose? But when you are in the bathroom for other purposes and don't want the shutters blowing open and exposing you, well -- good luck with that. No way to lock them in place. But other than that one little quibble, an excellent stay. Very welcoming and helpful staff, too.

Everything at this hotel was great! From the moment you walk in, people are pleasant and professional, and the decor will blow you away! They must have a special occasion note in their system because every time someone helped us, they'd congratulate us on our recent marriage. :) Our room was ABSOLUTELY gorgeous. It had what seemed to be a 4-person tub in it, which I really enjoyed overflowing with bubbles while having champagne and the world's best chocolate covered strawberries. Pricey, but definitely worth it at least once (we had those 2 nights in a row). Certain rooms gain access to a lounge where there is breakfast service in the morning and a sort of happy hour thing in the evening. Both were good, though we were spoiled with smoked salmon the first day, and just your typical breakfast stuff the rest of the week.

The hotel is situated on the gorgeous Forsyth park where everyone is friendly. It's just a mile or two from many great restaurants, and the historic district, a walk along the riverfront and patio dinner, etc. We took a motorcycle on the most perfect 20-30 minute drive to Tybee Island and enjoyed a day at the beach.

We couldn't have been happier!

Room Tip: We were told we got the nicest room in the hotel. I think it was larger than the others, but I peak...

If you like the "artsie"- contemporary decor this is for you, however, not my choice. Very clean and service is exceptional. Hotel sits directly in front of Forsyth park and offers a lot of opportunity for families w/children to have a good time. I'm a fan of the mariott hotels and it's service lives up to its name.

My boyfriend and I just returned from an extended weekend stay. We opted for the conceirge level but found it not to be worth it. Breakfast offerings and evening appetizers were limited and average at best quality. Overall, there wasn't anything special that would draw me here again. If you're looing for an artsy modern place to stay, try the avia instead.

My wife's nephew was smart enough to have his wedding in Savannah Ga and since we had been wanting to visit Savannah ever since reading Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evit we took full advantage and booked a 5 night stay at the Mansion on Forsyth Park in the historic district. The staff is super friendly and always helpful... especially Dawn one of the fine mixoloigists at the lobby bar and sometimes at the upstairs bar at the mansion restaurant. The artwork is far better than other hotel I have ever stayed in.
