It started out great. My friend and I were going there to celebrate her 60th birthday. Mark, the manager was so helpful in getting the exact rooms we wanted that had and adjoining balcony. This was really important to me as we wanted to to enjoy the mornings out there. It is why I chose this hotel. When we arrived we were told that one of the rooms was no longer available but they had found us one on another floor. I was extremely upset as I could have chosen another hotel. Thye kept taking full responsibility and saying how sorry they were but that really wasn't the point. Why couldn't the other people have been moved? The other people had a party that night on the balcony so even the one room we had wasn't able to use it.
The rooms were supposed to cost 1025 each for the stay. At midnight the morning we were leaving my card was charged 2850.00. When we arrived my card was charged another 341 and 1064. That night my card was charged 1450.
Did I tell you that the entire time the manager, Mark, is not onsite and no one else can do anything?
Finally we found Mark and he was very sorry and would get me moved to the right room the following day and make the price right. I am now at home and my card iis still the same. This place is extremely unorganized and unhelpful. The beautiful balcony is right next to a very noisy and smelly parking garage. The location is good and the rooms are nice. That's it.

Hello!

This was a very unfortunate situation and you are right, we accept 100% of the responsibility for what occurred.

While we do have a number of safeguards in place to prevent such an occurrence, for reasons we are still figuring out, those safeguards failed in this instance. Since this incident, we have implemented additional procedures and preventative measures when booking our Premium and Ultra Premium rooms that have worked to eliminate this particular issue of overbooking.

Our policy is to inform our guests as soon as we know there is an issue, but we were not made aware of the overbooking in our system until the day of your arrival. We had hoped that our balcony three stories up on the fifth floor would be suitable for your needs for the first night of your stay, especially since the balcony was private due to the neighboring room being closed for renovations.

We are terribly sorry that your first night was not enjoyable, as we were not aware of any issues with your neighbors on the terrace level. We want all of your guests to have a fun, relaxing time at our Inn, and encourage everyone to let us know of any issues concerning noise or behavior.

Your frustrations with the credit card issues are understandable and we appreciate your patience as it was getting sorted out. Each bank handles refunds differently, and the time frame for refunds and credits to post to an account can vary from bank to bank.

Marc, our manager, is on site for most of the day, and is the only one who handles the most delicate issues concerning these types of transactions to ensure their proper handling. This protocol is in place to prevent further complications and issues with payments and refunds.

All financial issues are treated with the utmost urgency by him, with credits and refunds processes on our end immediately. Delays in the funds reflecting in our guests' accounts stem from financial institutions, and we understand how that can lead to frustration.

We do hope you decide to stay with us on your next trip to Savannah, as we are confident that our new Premium and Ultra Premium Room booking procedures will eliminate this issue in the future.

Anyone looking to book our terrace rooms, balcony rooms, or our penthouse suite are welcome to call the hotel directly to speak with a trained staff member 24 hours a day-912-232-5678 or email us at reservations@savannahplantersinn.com.

Cheers!

The location is perfect. The park and the Pink House make it the most peaceful and charming spot in town. Easy walking distance to all the bars, locations, and restaurants you want to visit.
Rooms need some updating, like stepping back in time and not in a good way.

Hello!
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at our inn.

We are happy to hear you enjoyed our amazing location in the Savannah historic district.

At Planters Inn we are extremely proud of our history and our location, having been the original sight of John Wesley's parsonage before he went on to become the founder of the Methodist Church, as well as the location of the homes of two of Savannah’s most prominent business men. In 1913 the hotel was built on the site of the Burroughs home, and the rest has been history.

Our proximity to River Street and Bay Street, with almost all of the historic district a short walk from the hotel, puts us in the heart of the action. We are glad you were able to take advantage of our location and enjoy this unique aspect of our city.

We have been working to update our guest rooms, and many of our rooms are outfitted with new Serta mattresses, are freshly painted, and have had the windows replaced to better regulate temperature and reduce noise.

Being on the national registry of historic hotels does mean that all renovations are closely monitored, and the process is slow to ensure all repairs, remodels and decor changes are keeping with the Historic Society's strict guidelines.

While we have completely renovated a number of our rooms, we do have a few left to do, and we hope to be completely finished in the near future..

We do encourage all of our guests to address any and all issues pertaining to their stay with a staff member as soon as possible. We want all of our guests to have a safe relaxing time while visiting our beautiful inn and city.

Cheers!

We were coming to Savannah to celebrate my husband’s birthday and wanted it to be a special trip.

We called the hotel to book a room and had the pleasure of speaking with Jennifer who helped me get a great room, explained everything we would need to know when arriving, and even made activity and dining suggestions and reservations.

We had a wonderful time, and the location can’t be beet! Only had paid options for parking, but the garage is convenient and reasonable.

We did opt to go with a parkview room and found it was well worth the extra money since this was a special trip.

Absolutely coming back to stay here again!

We stayed here 2 nights while in Savannah for a family wedding. We were less than 5 minutes from all of the venues for the wedding events, plus easily able to walk to other sites in between family gatherings. Loved being on Reynolds Square! The Planters Inn has a lovely elegant charm. The staff are fantastic - helpful and friendly. Definitely a place I’d stay again.

Hello!

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback concerning your stay at our inn and for your kind words!

We are extremely proud of our historic inn, and it’s location on Reynolds Square next to the Olde Pink House. Since we are just two blocks from River Street, one block from Bay street, and just a few blocks away from Forsyth Park, many of our guests can walk to everything in the historic district. We are so happy you were able to take advantage of this during your stay here.

Your comments about the staff are also greatly appreciated! Everyone here at The Planters Inn has been working tirelessly to ensure that our guests have the very best experience possible while they are here. There is a strong tradition of southern hospitality here at our Inn and we plan on continuing that tradition.

We are always thrilled to see our guests again. Make sure you check out our website for the best deals and promotions, or call us directly (912-232-5678) or email at reservations@savannahplantersinn.com.

We enjoyed everything about our stay. The room was clean, well stocked and nicely decorated. The location is within walking distance of River Street and City Market and beside Pink House Restaurant. You won’t be disappointed!
