We stayed at Pike's Waterfront Lodge one night and wished we had booked more nights. The location was convenient to the airport, yet plenty around the hotel. Beautiful river is directly behind the hotel. Staff very eager to help and a great giftshop was on site. Nice room with a comfortable bed....what more could one ask for!

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the River.....it's the best!

The interior is attractive with all the different things to look at, such as; piano above lobby, old painting and signs, and very cozy. Friendly and helpful people in the gift shop. There was a wedding party in the dining room, and we had a room above that area with noise from wedding party, that went late into night. They should give those rooms to people in the wedding party, as they will be up late at the party. At the Buffet breakfest, Victoria, lady waitress was not helpful at all. She brought coffee and then walked away. We finally had to go ask her what was included in each different breakfest prices, on Aug. 26,2012, 8:40am. Next day, at breakfest, Timothy made sure we had eveything and visited with us. He made us feel much better about the Lodge.

Room Tip: Some rooms on 3rd floor have balcony over dining room and are noisey all night with fans from dining area, even with windows shut.

We spent three nights at Pikes. A group of six, we had three cabins and how terrific it was! The cabins were clean and the staff were accommodating. Everything we needed was at the hotel, although we ventured out every day. We spent the last night out on the lawn watching the northern lights. A real memory for us. The ice cream shop, the deck overlooking the river, the gardens. All were charming. We will definitely return if in Fairbanks. The restaurant in the hotel is much better than the massive one next door.

We loved staying at Pike's Waterfront Lodge. We stayed in cabin #1 and the accommodations and staff could not have been better. Everyone was so friendly. The cabin was very roomy with a great view of the lake. It was equipped with everything we wanted and more...small fridge, a microwave, coffee maker, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, etc. The entire lodge was decorated very tastefully, with tons of local art. The restaurant served the best breakfast we had in Alaska, with tons of hot and cold selections. We stayed here 4 nights and wished we could have stayed longer.
The lodge had several unique features such as a golf putting area, they served ice cream each evening and most importantly...it was right on the river.
We would highly recommend this hotel if your travels take you to Fairbanks.

Room Tip: Try one of the lakeside cabins. Our cabin #1 was fabulous. It had a deck where you could sit looking out at the river.

Pikes is very close to Airport but has a local log cabin feel.. Yes its older and yes its outdated.. but it is a nice hotel and i found the staff very friendly and fun. Kimberly at the morning Buffet went out of her way for us and was extremely helpful.
Bought a sweatshirt in the gift shop that was excellant quality and price.

Only downside was management made us put out the fire in the firepit early.. Why?
