This is a brand new hotel but it was in a really sketchy area - pay the extra money and stay at the Marriott near Brooklyn Heights

Our recent stay at The Fairfield Inn & Suites in Brooklyn was nearly perfect. The hotel has a friendly helpful staff. The free breakfast is a plus. The dining area is clean and spacious. The hotel itself is new to the neighborhood and has great curb appeal. Our room was large-by NYC standards. King size bed was comfy. I have a very minor complaint about the shower-it is "marble" and the floor gets slippery when wet. A textured floor would make it safer and a grab bar would be great. Everything else was spot-on. The price was right and within our budget. I was glad to see that Marriott was investing its' resources in an up and coming area of Brooklyn. The area is similar to many transitional urban neighborhoods in most large cities: lots of diversity, old and new construction, new businesses next to closed storefronts, an uneven environment but ripe with promise. We felt comfortable walking the few short blocks to the subway. In the evenings, we took a cab to and from the city. We are glad we found this hidden gem. We plan to stay there in the future.

Wonderful new property in Park Slope - every modern European in decor. Overlooks junk on one side, but neighborhood is up and coming. Handy to subway and all manner of shops, bars, restaurants on 5th ave. I was alone and had no worries about wandering around at night.

Room Tip: get the curved ones on the 3rd ave side

I travel on business every week to NYC and have never stayed in Brooklyn. Now I'm wondering why.

The facility opened about 5 months ago according to the very friendly staff. It is all new with all the modern amenities you'd expect at a Fairfield Inn & Suites. The rooms are reasonable in size and very comfortable. The work-space in the room has all the power you need and free wi-fi for connectivity. They include a continental style breakfast and a good business center if you need it.

Booking one week in advance on the internet bought me a room for $212 a night. How do you beat that in an adjoining NYC Borough for the quality, access, and amenities (maybe stay with Grandma if she has wi-fi)?

It is located about 6 blocks south and 1 block west of the major transit hub in Brooklyn (Atlantic Pacific Station) which makes it very convenient to get to anywhere in Manhattan or Long Island via subway or rail (LIRR).

The neighborhood goes from residential to industrial 2 blocks before you get there which means there's not much around without walking, but don't let that deter you as there are plenty of places to go as you get off the train / subway.

If given the choice in the future, I'd go back.

Great hotel within walking distance of the Long Island Railroad and many restaurants. Hotel itself is very comfortable with a wonderful view on the rooftop lounge. The breakfast is served in the lower level lounge with a variety of food items. The only complaint is that there is plenty of street parking as it is in an industrial area so we wasted 25 dollars on parking in the lot. Beds are comfortable as in all Marriotts! Would defintitely return.

I stayed here for a Wedding. The hotel is 4 months old, very clean, with nice decor. There were great rooftop views and a decent workout room. The rooms are small but nice. It's New York where many hotel rooms are small. I would have given them a five rating but my wife and I slept without heat due a broken heating unit. This was on a very cold and windy night. The maintenance crew had gone for the evening and the place was sold out. The staff apologized and gave us all the quilts and blankets you could ever want. The next day they adjusted the bill and apologized again. The best part of our stay was the customer service. From the time we entered hotel till our departure they were extremely courteous and attentive to our needs. They gave map directions, suggested local eats, breakfast schedule for the hotel, times cookies were served, highlights of local Brooklyn spots, and just any info we needed. I have been to many Marriott properties as an elite member and was very impressed with the Fairfield Inn Suites Brooklyn staff and the way they treated us. A nice lady named Brittany was the first staff person we met and she made it her personal mission to make sure we had a good stay. Thanks to all for the experience. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

For an overnight stay, it was commendable - we arived earlier than check-in time and were given a room which is neatly organized; good smell, crisp linens, enough toiletries, good view of the city buildings; good and quick service at check-in and checkout. Enjoyed the variety of food during breakfast - yougurt, bread, cereal, oatmeal, fruits and juices. Gym has treadmill and bike with TV monitors. We did not have a car, but there is parking space beside the hotel. We felt safe in the hotel. Also close to the Brooklyn park- Botanical Garden. Will stay again when we go to Brooklyn. Even the room we had was facing the street, insulation was pretty good to where we can't even hear road noise. Pleasant stay! Area of improvement - little gap between door and floor allowed noise to be heard from hallway.
