This little gem is a little out of the way but worth making the effort. A true diner minus the meat. Good vibe. Friendly staff. Breakfast and lunch items to choose from. We went here two out of five mornings for breakfast.

Had a MASSIVE and absolutely delicious vegan hash here, on a recent trip to New York. Honestly, it was more food than I required but I guess you could consider that great value for money.

There was a short wait the first visit and we were informed that there would be a 40 minute wait when we returned on another occasion. Owing to time-constraints we ate elsewhere the second time but can hardly grumble about a restaurants popularity.

Great coffee too and their fresh ginger shots are a great way to start your day. Highly recommended.

We enjoyed many of the menu items. They do vegan well!! Friendly staff, explained menu items. Very busy but worth the wait. Would have given it 5 stars but we ate dinner with our coats on. Seriously drafty on a cold winter evening.

My husband and I LOVE this place. We live in Washington Heights and far too frequently travel over to Brooklyn to eat here because it's so darn good. We take our non-vegan friends here to show them how good vegan food can be! And truly, it will trick a lot of non-vegans into thinking their eating meat and dairy! Here are the dishes I would recommend:

- Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich
- TaterTachos
- Philly Cheesesteak
- Reuben
- Banana Creme Pie Shake
- S'mores Shake

There's a really good chance that no matter when you go, you're going to have to wait. If you do have to wait, go to Dun-Well Doughnuts down the street for some incredible vegan donuts. And if Dun-Well isn't open, definitely wait for the table. It's 100% worth it!!!

We read such great reviews for Champs and loved the idea of a vegan diner so just had to go try it out and we are so glad we did! The food was amazing, service was quick and friendly. Tofu scramble was delicious and that's saying something as I don't really care for tofu! Pancakes were thick and fluffy. Delicious sausage and bacon and really yummy potatoes. Great coffe and tasty shakes. We were absolutely stuffed leaving just as well we had a lot of walking planned for the day! If you're in Manhatten and looking for a vegan diner breakfast jump on the subway and go to Champs it really is worth the trip. Sadly no where like Champs here at home.
