This indépendant bookstore is worth the drive! The exterior is a darling little house and the interior has big windows that look out onto Lake Superior. It houses an excellent selection of books, including lots of regional books. The best part is really the staff. They are smart, nice and willing to spend lots of time with you. Join their bookclub. After 10 books, your next one is free. It doesn't expire. You also get a great newsletter. Ask staff for their recommendations. They have not disappointed me yet!

Loved the unusual selection of books, plus a lot of books on the local area. Owner was knowledgeable and friendly.

This is a really cute bookstore right on the lake. The people are helpful and they have a good selection of material. If you're looking for that perfect book to read by the lake, this is the stop.

I'm an avid reader, so I search out good bookstores wherever I go: The Strand in NYC, Powell's in Portland, Politics & Prose in DC, etc. Drury Lane Books belongs in the same category, though on a smaller scale. Don't be fooled by its small size, though. Bigger isn't necessarily better, especially if you have to wade through dozens of books that aren't even tempting to read.

Drury Lane has a great selection of kids books, books about local subjects, and even things like birchbark bookmarks and photo calendars. What surprised me was the depth of their selections in areas like history. They don't just have NYTimes bestsellers, they have books you might not have heard of, but which are well worth reading. I kicked myself for not having room in my carry-on, because I could have bought half a dozen books there.

I talked at length to the woman at the desk, who told me about local book clubs, and how astutely this store's buyers keep abreast of good books. It clearly shows in their selections.

Stopped in to browse around. There were several books crammed into this small store. Lots of new books and classics too. Prices were average.
