“Best Bed and Breakfast ever!”
Reviewed 9 February 2012

We go to Buckhorn Inn two times a year with family. It has become our favorite gathering place. We love the peaceful atmosphere, the great food and the time we spend playing card games. We have met many nice folks. The view of the mountains from the Inn is breath taking and we love watching the swans. We usually stay two to three nights and are very sad when it's time to leave. The Inn is kept up nicely and very clean. You will not regret visiting Buckhorn Inn

Room Tip: We have always enjoyed the Inn but the cabins are also nice to stay.

Due to family health issues we have been unable to get back to the Buckhorn Inn for almost two years. Prior to that we were there several times a year. Fortunately, my oldest son Robert realized that my wife and I needed a respite and a return to the Inn was exactly what we needed. He and his wife gave us a gift certificate to the Buckhorn Inn for Christmas. We were able to book a date in mid January of 2012. It was so refreshing to get back to the Buckhorn. It is relatively close to where we live in Knoxville, and yet, it provides us with a get away that is unmatched. It feels like we are a long distance away in the quite mountains. Lee, John and the staff are like a family away from home to us and we enjoy fellowshipping with them all very much. Our last visit was as outstanding as the first one almost nine years ago. We plan to visit again as soon as we can get our schedule in order.

Room Tip: All rooms at the Inn are excellent. If you like room and a great view the Preimier Rooms are your c...

We went 3 years ago for our first anniversary and again this year for our 4th anniversary.

The breakfast is out of this world. This trip we enjoyed Bananas Foster French Toast and Pumpkin Pancakes. Amazing and hearty.

Dinner was also terrific.

We love the calm that this getaway always brings our souls. The beautiful views (even in winter) and lovely accommodations are always enjoyed.

We plan to return over the years.

Room Tip: Cabin 5 has the best views if you're in a cabin. We love the premier rooms also.

My husband and went for summer vacation. We had booked three nights. After our first night stay our daughter went into pre-term labor and we had to leave unexpectedly. The owner refused to give us a refund. She gave us a rain check, but it was only good for 6mo. and we couldn't go back during that time so we lost our money. The rooms were too pricey and the staff was unfriendly. Would not recommend.

Lee M, Owner at Buckhorn Inn, responded to this review, 15 February 2012
I am very distressed to learn that this guest found our customer service to be unfair and that he felt he was treated rudely. All our employees are trained to be courteous in their interaction with guests especially when communicating policies. Because we are a small inn not located on a busy highway, we have a 10 day notice of cancellation which guests are advised of on our website, verbally and in a written letter of confirmation. This guest had booked with us at a busy time when we completed booked and turning away folks who wanted to stay with us. Because we were sympathetic with this guest, we waived our usual policy and gave them a gift certificate for another stay. At the time we issued the certificate they seemed pleased and we are sorry that later it did not seem to be sufficient. If this guest had contacted me, I would have been happy to consider extending the use date.

We have been coming to the Smokies for years, and this was our first visit to the Buckhorn. The best view of any of the B&B's we have stayed at. The cleanest and a very professional staff. We probably will not go back due to it being very expensive compared to staying in town, but this was a surprise party with my family on my birthday,

My husband and I spent several days at the Buckhorn in, recently, to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary and stayed in the Premier 3 room. It was heavenly and exactly what we were looking for~ a nice, quiet, beautiful, quaint, historical, out of the way place with excellent food! We would eat a scrumptious breakfast at the inn, go to area towns during the day (Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Seiverville) to shop, then come back for a 5-star dinner in front of the fire place. When we were done, all we had to do was walk a few feet to our wonderful room! I highly recommend it! If you have any questions, check out their website. The breakfast is included in the price but the dinner was extra. Absolutely worth it!!!

Room Tip: Premier Rooms are on the main level. Others are second or higher. Cabins are cozy but if it's ra...

My husband and I just stayed in Premier Room 2 at the Buckhorn Inn this past weekend. This was our fifth or sixth time at the Inn and found it absolutely wonderful as we have every time we have stayed at the Buckhorn. The mountain views from the Inn are spectacular and the food and service excellent. Would highly recommend and we will definitely be going back!

Room Tip: We love the premier rooms!
