Stopped by duck donuts after hearing rave reviews and it definitely lived up to the hype! They make your donut to order so it’s hot and delicious when you get it. The staff is incredibly helpful and nice and take the time to explain all of the options!

Someone said Duck Donuts had the best donuts so I had to try them. They make your donuts to order so they are always fresh. Super friendly staff. They are not your normal donut shop. You can get all these different toppings or whats on their menu. Its kind of like the Which Wich of donuts. I had the S'mores and a mochaccino. The donut was a cake donut which was ok but would prefer a regular style donut or cake. Loved the coffee even though I'm not a huge coffee drinker. Their coffee is super smooth and no bitter after taste. I wonder if they will have kcups or see bags of their coffee.

Had read about the original place on the Outer Banks and happened on this location on Saturday morning in an area of town we don't normally frequent. Decided to try it for a quick treat and had a pleasant experience.

Donuts are all vanilla-flavored cake type, so are a bit heavier than Krispy Kreme patrons might be expecting, Donuts are ordered at counter register and come with your choice of an icing, a crunchy topping, and a squirt of liquid topping for $1.40 each donut. Can order half and full dozens also, and they have beverages for sale. Were staffed with 4 employees and it was busy.

Donuts are squirted into short frying machine, and there is a small glass wall between this fry station and customers. Kids can watch the finished donuts drop into the waiting basket to be topped as ordered. Employee puts these hot donuts into a brown box tray bottom and lays printout of order on top, then puts the donuts in line to be topped - they are very hot at this point.

Here's where we had an issue with the staff's organization...the same employee that was making the donuts then left the fry station to go to topping station, and hand-dipped each donut one by one into the icing, then added the crunchy topping, then squirted with bottle. There are not any spoons or measurements used, you get hand-sprinkles at the employee's discretion. It was beginning to really back up with orders since he was supposed to be making donuts at the fry station, so another employee came to the topping station to help - it would have been better for this rush of customers if the management had put 2 staff on the topping station and 1 staff designated at the fry station, but they didn't have enough people on duty.

We ordered 3 donuts - a chocolate icing, chocolate sprinkles, and hot fudge topping; a chocolate icing, coconut shreds, and raspberry topping, and a chocolate icing, crushed Oreos, and chocolate topping. When we were given the box tray, the donuts were still warm but not hot, at a good temperature for eating, soft and sweet, and not greasy at all. All of us enjoyed our selections, and decided to try the bacon topping next time.

Would recommend this for a quick snack with the kids, as it is an enjoyable process to watch and service is relatively quick even when busy. Donuts are not large, so $1.40 seems pricey relative to the size of the snack, though. They also sell T-shirts there, so really is a beach souvenir kind of atmosphere brought to Greensboro.

If we could recommend something to management, it would be that they offer recycling for their customers. We ate out of the brown tray box bottom, which is recyclable. The waste cans were full to the brim of these box bottoms, mixed with non-recyclable waste like napkins and cups. Maybe offer different trash cans inside for recycling???

My sister gave me a half dozen of these to try. I must admit that they did not look all that appetizing but they are full of flavor. The base donut is a cake like donut and delicious. We had the blueberry, blueberry pancake and the maple bacon. All were tasty. If you are tired of other options, this one is to try.
