Whenever we are in the area, we make it a point to eat at Sarah's Kabob Shop. Today we were the first customers who walked in when they opened at 10: 30 am. It was time for a very early lunch. As we usually do, we ordered the Beef Shawarma Platter ($9.19) with the sliced and minced beef cooked with grilled onions, peppers, and tomato. The very generous serving of the meat and veggies is served over an equally generous bed of fragrant rice. The other half of the large round plate is mounded high with salad topped with feta cheese. You also receive a soft warm pita that is cut into sections. All the food is fresh, fresh, fresh and prepared right then. You receive a cup of dressing for the salad and some dipping sauce as well. The plate is filled with food, edge to edge. Today I ate my salad, half my beef shawarma and rice, and half my pita. I took the rest of my meal home.Try as he could, even hubby (who had not eaten breakfast) could not finish his beef shawarma and rice, so I added it to my take home box. Since we were the first customers, they had just started warming up the grill and we still received our food very quickly. When we first ate at Sarah's we asked for the spicy items to be served in a small cup on the side, and they did that for us very gladly. Now we ask for a medium spice level mixed into the beef shawarma, and that is just right for us. Whether you want your food spicy or not, they will adjust your entree to your specifications. If you have not yet experienced Sarah's Kabob Shop, do yourself a favor and go. We think you will love eating there, as we do.
