First of all the Hotel changed names, new name is "The Pury Hotel" and is available for booking through any front-line booking site. I guess there must be a change in ownership / management as none of the existing reviews matched what I found here.

This is, arguably, the best hotel I stayed in China. First thing that impressed me was the book-shelf in my room. Well, the bookshelf actually contained some nice hard cover books on Architecture!! This I never expected from a Hotel!!

Check-in was very efficient, staff at the reception spoke better English than your average hotel staff in China. They were very friendly and asked me what type room I wanted, smoking / non smoking, higher / lower floor etc. Again, Chinese are not known for this type hospitality.

The room was slightly smaller than average, however, still plenty of room to walk a few steps. Another great surprise came as I turned the TV on. Amazingly 4 out of the first 6 channels were English Channels. Typically in China, you expect at most 1 or 2 English channels tucked around the last few channels.

The best was perfect for me, not Japanese hard and Not too soft either.

Hotel has an in-house spa, and I am guessing they will offer very good massage. Didn't have the time to check it out.

I had an early morning flight and overslept which resulted in me missing breakfast. But from everything else, I am sure I would like that too.

I will be in Yiwu gain in Jan 2018 and I will definitely stay here.

Imagine my shock when after checking in and I unlock the door of my room, to find a man standing in front of me inside the room ! He apologized in Mandarin, saying he is repairing the ceiling of the room !!! He left the room but the floor is dirty and the room dusty. Why did the reception gave me this room and didn’t they know about the repair going on ?

I called to complain and was given another room next door, but I was asked to go down and exchange the key card. But when I went up again with my luggages, the door cannot be opened. So guess what, I had to go down again, but the receptionist insists there is nothing wrong with the key and suggested I may not have used it correctly. Telling that to a seasoned traveler is some kind of insult, to say the least.

The same thing happened again the next day. This time, I insist that they change the card, and she relented, finally.

The location of the hotel is good, right opposite a mall and there’s another bigger mall coming up in the summer. But it is quite a distance from the wholesale market where most visitors go to and the hotel does not have a shuttle bus to bring guests there and back.

Overall, I wouldn’t stay here again if I were to visit Yiwu.

A little hidden from Gloucester Road
Once inside a very efficient elevator takes you to the 3rd floor check in
Then wisks you high up to your floor
Go for an 01 style room with a stunning Harbor view. Room extremely comfortable and well equipped. Great bathroom with walk in shower. The hotel is very new
Breakfast very pleasant is served well in the ground level restaurant. Close walk to convention center and Ferry
