A very relaxing and beautiful tour in Allepey backwaters. In my opinion it was a better choice to make it with Kallapura tour than with a regular houseboat because this way you can go through the narrow canals and get closer to village life. They serve you homemade breakfast and lunch, if you are hungry in between you can also grab some snacks or a fresh coconut in a stop in the middle of tour. But have in mind that most of the day you will be on the boat just apreciatting the life on the water banks.

Our guide Ani was very friendly and explained a lot of cultural traditions during the way. He even stopped in a Toddy place (a natural fermented coconut sap beverage) because I wanted to try.

I️ would highly recommend this tour! Mr. Kunjachan and his wife have a lovely, quaint home in a small village in the backwaters. He made sure we were happy throughout the day and was a charming man. Both breakfast and lunch are served by his wife, Rose, and her cooking is phenomenal. Make sure you come with an appetite!

Mr. Kunjachan does most of the paddling so the canoe ride is very relaxing. I️ didn’t see any other tourists, just few village people fishing, cleaning, and doing laundry. Just what I️ had in mind for a backwaters experience!

We were looking for something cheaper than the houseboats, and we finally decided to go with Kalappura, they organized a super trip for us!
After an hour on the ferry, we got off at a tiny village, far from the touristy parts, and we were invited to the house of our lovely guide for an amazing breakfast!! Aftewards we got into a tiny boat and had a chance to discover the true backwaters, we cruised in the tiny canals among villages, get a glimpse into the life of the villagers. We saw beautiful colorful birds, even saw a kingfisher!:) it was a truly amazing experience. The trip ended with a mouthwatering lunch made by our lovely guide’s wife at their house. The best Kerala food I had!! Such an amazing day, I can highly recommend

The Backwaters tour included a drive with the ferry for about two hours where we could see the main rivers with much traffic, breakfast at the guides house (his wife makes awesome food), a drive through the villages, lunch and the drive back with the ferry. The guide and his wife were lovely and we had the most wonderful and relaxing time!

Today me and three friends enjoyed the backwaters tour. I very friendly and funny local guy invited us to his home where his wife made delicious Indian food for us(breakfast and lunch).
Also we made a wonderful canoe tour through nice and quiet places of the backwaters.
Would highly recommend it!
