This lovely residence has a restaurant on the roof which serves decent food at reasonable prices. The residence is a heritage house tastefully renovated, with a small pool. Disappointing that there is a skyway being constructed right outside the door.

we tried too....but the work being carried out on the hotels doorstep is horrendous! I was aware of it before we stayed but it still shocks you. What a shame for this beautiful hotel, I do hope people still stay here to experience the old style Indian charm. Good restaurant too, tasty food, cold beer. We stayed for 2 nights, came to Alleppey for backwaters but also enjoyed our lovely long walks along the beach which the hotel is perfectly located for.

We had several meals here although we were not staying.
The staff were attentive and professional.
Great food and extensive menu.
Beer and wine available.
Make sure you wear insect repellant the mozzies are prolific.
Great book exchange too.

Beautiful old residence turned into an hotel, with real old world feel to it. Teak and mahogany furniture and artifacts everywhere you look. Rooms very classy and comfortable, four poster, gorgeous bathroom, air con freezing - decent swimming pool and the beach nearby. What`s not to like? Staff cannot do enough for you. Had a bit of an illness issue whilst there and the manageress was most accommodating and comforting. I wish we had stayed there longer than the three nights we had booked. Lovely ambience after so many ordinary modern tourist hotels. But what of the future? A massive and overwhelming flyover right outside the gate? Can it survive?

Raheem's residency is a beautiful old hotel next to the beach. The hotel has it's pros and cons and I will start with pros of course!:)

1. Very welcoming and helpful staff
2. Old Indian architecture
3. Healthy breakfast
4. Nice swimming pool

Cons:

1. Hygiene could have been better
2. Full of mosquitoes (hotel should provide its customers with mosquito nets)
3. Bathrooms are stuffy due to lack of ventilation
4. Flyover being built right in front of it (so SAD!)

Room tip: Very soon it will not be a quite hotel as flyover is being built right in front of it.
