I think this hotel is more in Kuta than Legian. It maybe opposite the beach but it might as well be in a city block environment. My feelings about this hotel are probably closely linked to my feelings about Kuta and after this trip I won't bother to overnight in Kuta again. There is just no need when you can catch a cab from Nusa Dua or other areas and go shopping for a few hours then return to the oasis.
The hotel maybe new but it is very rough on the surface and seems to be poorly constructed, problems with leaks everywhere.
The room did have a bit of a musty smell and yes the floorboards were squeeky and if you had wet feet, they are slippery as well. In saying that, in Kuta, I don't think you are going to spend a lot of time in your room so I guess it's not that big of a deal. The biggest problem for us was the paper thin walls, you could hear your neighbours TV clearly through the walls, let alone other noises.
We didn't bother to use the kids club, it didn't seem to be the standard of any of the other hotels we stayed in, just a small narrow room, probably okay for an hour or so but not half a day. The babysitting rates were super expensive compared with other hotels we stayed and we also didn't bother with this service.
Some staff were very friendly, some seemed very inexperienced and seem to hide to avoid serving you.
However, I have to say all the food we had at the hotel was exceptional. The breakfast offered the most variety of any of the hotels we stayed during our trip. We ate at 2 of the evening themed dinners and found them both to be high quality. The Seafood BBQ was the best we had ever had (and we have had a few) and at only 180000++, exceptional value. It was beautiful and even if I wasn't staying here in my next trip to Bali, I would consider heading to the Pullman for the Seafood BBQ.
In summary, I don’t think I would stay here again but it’s not really a true reflection on the hotel rather a reflection on the Kuta area as a whole. We looked at the suites and more expensive rooms but settled on the standard and were glad for it because I think we would have been truly disappointed had we of spent too much money on this stay. Book Pullman if you can get a great rate, not staying too long and really want to be somewhere between Kuta and Legian. Eat there if you are staying anywhere in the local area, particularly if you have an Advantage Plus card.

Dear TheCameleer,

We appreciate the time taken to post your comments regarding your recent stay at Pullman Bali.

We are sorry to read that you might have feel more comfortable in a less lively area than Legian, and that it also impacted your perception of the hotel. We would like to apologize for the inconvenience you encountered with the physical condition of your room. Our Engineering team is definitely making a priority of fixing the issues you mentioned, such as the floor boards, to ensure that we can deliver a flawless experience to all of our guests. We do indeed offer a complimentary Kid’s Club service and rest assured that we do propose various outside activities for the children we look after such as swimming pool time or soccer games.

Eventually, we would like to thank you for your great comments about our Food & Services offer. The Extravaganza BBQ evening was only launched at the beginning of the month, and it is a pleasure for us to know that you enjoyed this special event by the pool.

Once again thank you for sharing your experience on TripAdvisor.

Sincerely,
Aline Marty

We spent a couple of days here and really enjoyed our stay. We had a one bedroom suite and the room was a good size with a great bathroom and comfortable bed. Our room included a coffee machine (similar to Nespresso). The air conditioning in the room was very effective.

It was in a fairly good location, literally across the road from the beach. Possibly a bit far to walk to Kuta (although other more heat tolerant people may disagree). We did enjoy the local shops and restaurants on Jalan Melasti and Jalan Sahadewa.

Two pools to use, the roof top pool was good although there's not much in the way of shade for those in the loungers. The other pool at ground level had plenty of shade and seating (they both had pool side bars/food service). This pool was our favorite.

The free wifi was a little slow but otherwise apprecitaed, There is a "connectivity lounge" with computers and internet access for those without a portable device. This room is also great for those who have to hang around for a flight after checking out, and it includes a bathroom to change in.

The breakfast buffet at the hotel was great, and while a little expensive, it was a good option. There was a wide range of tasty Western and Asian food options.

The property was in geat condition with beautiful grounds and the staff were very friendly and happy to assist. All in all, a great place to spend a few days relaxing.

Taxi to the hotel was 55,000 IDR (fixed price set by the official taxi people at the airport - and prepaid). Back to the airport was approx 68,000 IDR on the meter.

hi....first of all let me tell you'll i a travel agent and have been to many hotels for either stay , meetings , recci or etc . I have been to Bali last year and stayed in Kuta seaview and i just got back from my honeymoon from Bali . We stayed in Courtyard Marriot and i have to admit it's and excellent hotel . We decided to stay in Kuta for the last 2 nights to do some shopping and etc . here is what we experienced .

Pullman
Great location , but the sea facing room is noisy as its facing the main road . We booked the seafacing but we requested the front office to downgrade our room to deluxe garden view which cost lower , but the front office told me that garden view is running full . Are you kidding me , i am a travel agent and all i do is huge MICE groups , i know the environment when the hotel is more then 50% occupancy . The lobby looked dead and also the outlets , pool , business centre . The hotel should be running at maximum 30% occupancy . The only thing they wanted me to do is to upgrade to Grand Deluxe at additional USD10 ( + or - ) per night . So since i am on my honeymoon i have no choice but to take it . Now , the main problem with Pullman is the quality of the hotel . The hotel does not look like a new hotel at all . The corridor to the rooms looks terrible , the tiles are all old and cracking , the edges are all damaged . The wall colour is Apple green for god sake . Both the rooms has wooden flooring , and let me tell you its DAMN noisy and oily . Its the most irritating sound and my home has wooden flooring which is perfectly fine . The bell boys are very friendly but the front desk is not so friendly . The plus points are they have probably one of the best breakfast in a hotel ( huge spread with all items ) . The spa is excellent and very reasonably priced .
The hotel looks like it rushed into opening without completing properly , that is why you can see huge defaults in the finishing . If you compare Pullman with Courtyard , i will choose Courtyard closed eyes but of course the location of Pullman wins it . But seriously , they need to do a refurbishment even after just 2 years of opening . Its a huge disappointment for us as i can tell you Kuta Seaview has better rooms and better service

Thanks
Anand ( malaysia )

Room Tip: please consider other hotels too if you are willing to spend so much!!

Dear Edwin A,

We appreciate your comments about recent your stay at Pullman Bali, whilst disappointed to note your experience was not to your full expectations, we are always grateful for both positive and constructive feedback coming from a professional of the tourism industry.

On your arrival on May 1st the hotel was over 60% occupancy, and unfortunately most of our Deluxe rooms were occupied or granted late checkouts, which is the reason why we were unable at that time to satisfy your request for a lower category than the original Deluxe Ocean View you booked. Please accept my apologies if this were not clearly explained to you at the time. In regards to the design of the hotel itself, there are a few projects to come in the upcoming months, such as redesigning the corridors, and also replacing some of the noisy floor boards you are mentioning, in order to ensure we maintain and improve our existing standards. We were truly sorry to read that you were not fully satisfied by the service you received during your stay, which for most of our guests is the highlight of their stay in our hotel; rest assured that your comment was discussed with the concerned head of department.

We also want to thank you for taking the time to also highlight the positive aspects of your stay, and we were glad to read you enjoyed our breakfast as well as our Spa.

Thanks again for sharing your concerns and we hope we may have the opportunity to welcome you back to the Pullman Bali in the near future.

Sincerely,

Aline Marty

Have just had 5 days at the Pullman, the squeakly floor boards were very annoying, my husband and I woke each other up when we used the bathroom during the night. We had a grand deluxe room which was very spacious, however, the bathroom had a 'smelly drain' odour to it. The buffet breakfast was second to none - just beautiful. Missed not having a swim up pool bar, this Hotel is far too big for our liking, we found it very impersonal. Would I stay here again? "No"

Dear Carolyn M,

We appreciate the time taken to post your comments regarding your recent stay at Pullman Bali on TripAdvisor and it is with much regret that we read that you did not fully enjoy your time with us.

With over 300 rooms the hotel is indeed large, though its design, inspired by frangipani flower, emphasizes green spaces, such as our open lobby facing the gardens and the outside fountain, and we are sorry to note it was not to your taste. We are also sorry to read that though enjoying our spacious Grand Deluxe room, you had some inconveniences with the floor boards, and rest assured some of those are on plans to be replaced in the upcoming weeks.

We are glad to read that you enjoyed our infinity pool and our buffet breakfast that made also your stay enjoyable.

Once again thank you for sharing your experience on TripAdvisor.

Sincerely,

Aline Marty
