“lovely hotel”

It takes really does take you back to time, and its very rare that you find one thats similar to Scottish climate and architecture together in Asia. Nuwara Eliya aways been damp and cold is probably must have been the ideal location for British feel at home back in the day. Staff at St.Andrews try very hard to please you, and the breakfast in the morning was very good.

This is not your standard modern hotel! I love all the wooden floors and old fashioned details accompanied by modern comforts including wifi. Staff are very friendly and attentive although they may be a little slower than some hotels I think it just adds to the laid back ambience of the place. Food was excellent, buffet one night and set menu the next and service speed in the evening was just fine. We had a packed breakfast one morning as we were leaving very early which could have kept you going all day. Breakfast the second morning was from a menu (rather than buffet) and was also excellent. My husband enjoyed a game of billiards with one member of staff, in a wonderful old wood panelled billiard room, whilst I sat back and enjoyed a cocktail.
Would highly recommend to anyone!

I’m really happy to say that we have a very flexible, courteous team at Jetwing St. Andrew’s who have been trained to match the distinctive Jetwing hospitality and standards. We always try our level best to meet your exact expectations knowing the importance of your happiness while you are here on your holiday. We have stunning surroundings along with our magnificent ‘Old English’ concept which bodes well with most of our guests’ requirements. However, you will be glad to hear that Jetwing St. Andrew’s is heading in to major renovations which will add another wing to the property as well. I’m sure that we will definitely set a new standard for hotels in the area once renovations are complete.

I haven't stayed in this hotel, but only been here for a meal. Before going I was warned that service was extremely slow here, so I came prepared... but the slowness of the slow service here I have to say is quite unique! If you want to eat at 7pm, make sure you arrive at 5pm, in time to first locate a waiter, then wait for ages whilst it sits in the kitchen and gets cold!

We have spent 1 night only, food was great and rooms were spaciously and nicely decorated but very old. we were group of friends and did not give much attention to the details but we received so many complains of our noice, yes the walls are think and wooden so every body can hear every body "if loud only"
Hotel is not recommended for young people and childen

Room Tip: You might not get sleep if people in next room are making little noise.

The rooms curtains fixture and fittings are extremely outdated.Not only are they outdated,they are also tattered,old and dirty.Moving over to the customer service,the staff are merely people whom give illogical excuses regarding the maintenance of the Scottish atmosphera.The hotel's state will make the Zilma couple ex-owners of this hotel cry in their graves.
-TV screen is small.Unenjoyable and the viewing is terrible from the bed.
- Toothbrush and toothpaste not provided.
- room service takes ages to come!
- ordered chocolate mousse but it turned out to be whipped cream with chocolate bits.Nothing that resembled a mousse!!! Excuse given by restaurant: that's the way the choc mousse is prepared by the hotel.
- Lighting is extremely bad.No use reading a book.The poor lighting will deteriorate the human eyesight.Side bedside lamps are extremely dim.Cant be adjusted for READING!
- Couch is extremely saggy and extra blanket given is so shabby.
Overall,not worth your time and money.PICK A BETTER PLACE!

Looks like Jetwings is only interested in money!! Customer satisfaction ranks the least!

Room Tip: dont pick this hotel unless you're planning to stay in the suite!!

This was our least favourite hotel in Sri Lanka

Best Points
The rooms had a rustic feel. We were offered a small soup when we arrived. It was a good base to see the tea planations from.

Worst Points
The rooms had no air con (wasn't really needed because of the cooler climate), no fridge, not enough lighting and thin walls, we could hear next door's children.
The eveing meal was ok, but the service was disorganised and slow. It took ages to get a drink and get the bill.
No swimming pool!
