My wife and I traveled from Arizona and spent 2 nights at the Concourse. We chose to stay in the Governor's Club, and were not disappointed. The room was fantastic, had an amazing view of the Capitol Building and the "square". Having access to the Club is a big bonus and well worth the additional room cost. All the staff in the Club were very friendly and helpful. We do not travel back to Wisconsin much, but being able to call the Concourse our home base for a few days made it very special.

Room tip: Obviously a view of the Capitol is a big plus. Staying in the Governor's Club is well worth the additional cost.

We recently spent nine days at the Madison Concourse and were so pleased with everything about it, but especially the staff at the Governor's Club. Grace, Megan, and Samantha are charming and welcoming, and made us feel like they were glad we chose to stay there. It was a pleasure to spend time with them. Our housekeeper, Ann, was ever so cheery, and watched for me to leave each day and immediately went to clean the room. This was so welcome for me because I was accompanying my husband who was working all day, and I often returned to the room several times during the day. Another great part of this hotel is the restaurant. The food is excellent and varied. It's always a treat to stay at the Madison Concourse.

This hotel was great in terms of service and location. Our family walked every where because it so close to the Childrens museum, state capitol area, and restaurants. .
The only downside is the hotel is rather dated, however the rooms looks like were slightly bigger than these modern hotels. We also got a great deal on this room using Priceline. Overall strongly recommended and will stay here again if I ever travel to Madison.

Loved the hotel. Stayed in Governors club, beautiful, clean, pleasant staff. Recommend to bring a fan. The room conducted all the loud sounds from the street, I think I heard 20 sirens during the night. Every hallway noise sounded like it was in the room. The room temp only went down to 65 degrees, and there wasn't an option to keep the fan on at all times to help block the noise. Elegant hotel, just bring earplugs or your own fan for sleeping.

The Concourse is a lovely, older hotel perfectly situated in downtown Madison. It is within walking distance to unique shopping on State Street, award-winning restaurants (L'Etoile & Harvest), the Capitol, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Other recent reviews do a good job describing what the hotel's ammenities are like so I will not repeat. I will add that the parking garage under the hotel was built years ago before SUV's became so popular--clearance is tight for large vehicles. If you have a small car, drive it instead of your SUV. It will make parking much easier.

Stay in the Governor's Club--especially if you are planning to spend much time at the hotel. You will have free drinks, snacks, dessert, and a place to enjoy the beautiful view of the city.
