We stayed a week in a house in San Juanillo and ended up eating here 4 times. The food is all organic and locally sourced but more importantly it is delicious. The place is small but very clean and well set up. They will provide you with either an English or Spanis menu. The servers are friendly and the owner is a very nice man. I was surprised to see other reviews to the contrary. He was very pleasant in every interaction with us and all other guests, most of them foreign tourists. He spoke both English and Spanish alike with us and others. We felt more like we were eating at a friend's house than in a restaurant. The ceviche and seafood dishes were faboulous, as was the traditional casado. Our kids are very picky eaters but found several dishes to choose from (the chicken and bacon sandwich was their favorite). The absolute best brownies and smoothies!!! Portions are large and prices are reasonable. Bathrooms were kept very clean also. Credit cards are accepted both in the restaurant and attached store where a large array of local crafts and other items are sold. There were a couple of dogs always around and a litter of 4 puppies (they were 5 weeks old when we were there). It was super relaxing sitting under a huge shade tree enjoying the great food, sights and sounds of San Juanillo. I highly recomend this place!

Wonderful find in remote San Juanillo, a bumpy ride up the coast from Nosara and Playa Guiones. Great food including ceviche, burgers, milkshakes (called smoothies but some included ice cream and cacao!). Besides the restaurant, the Spanish couple do tattoos and massage and run a shop with a mixture of random Asian handicrafts and Costa Rican pottery. New puppies running around the porch, clean indoor bathroom, and nice tables under shade trees made this a perfect rest stop!

Food was mediocre- interesting menu but fish was half cooked. More than anything though I wouldn't recommend this as the creepy bald guy working there who I was told is an owner was quite rude when asked some simple questions about the items he was selling. His aura immediately put a damper on the ambiance - kind of an anti Tico experience . There's a much nicer option just down the lane at the beach! I would highly recommend driving a couple minutes further-both the view and the vibe are superior.

Stopped here after reading reviews that the food was really good. The owner was so rude to me and my daughter and stated he didn't understand me when I spoke English. But when other customers spoke to him in English, they were French, he was sweet as pie and understood every word. He not only spoke English but Spanish as well and I have learned he hates north Americans according to the locals. Apparently he is Egyptian. So why get into a business where you interact with tourists daily but hate them? The food was ok but not anything that would require a second trip there to eat. Service was poor and they didn't have enough chairs for our family of 6. No one even cared to help us find one either. Don't give this waste of human flesh your money!! Eat at the tree top instead where you will be treated with kindness.
