This place is like none other in the United States. What an experience! This area has great food, history, museums, places of worship, and atmosphere. I live the buildings and look of the place. It’s probably the dirtiest city in the nation too. I’m not a drinker, thus don’t appreciate the smell of alcohol, vomit, and urine everywhere. If you can look past this, the French Quarter is still a must see place to experience l!

Always something to do or see or hear. Lots of great live music in the streets. Many miles on foot or the hop on hop off bus to see so much. Good food and drinks at every turn.

I saw a shirt down here that said "There are three great cities in the US: New York, Los Angeles, and New Orleans. Everywhere else is just Cleveland." Clearly, that is not entirely accurate but it captures to poets view of this place. Something has to be said for a place in which you can get drunk on booze, culture and history, or music, or food - or well, all of them at the same time. It's something to be experienced.

We enjoyed a rainy day of shopping at multiple vendors at the French Market. You can bargain with the vendors, if you would like to try to get the best price. I purchased several souvenirs from here.

Area was very lively and always a lot of people walking around, could not figure where they were going. A lot of drinking and dinning locations around. Everything is very run down, not talking about the age of the place, but about the up keep of infrastructure, especially walkways. Trash all over the place, homeless around everywhere. constant police issues in the area (4 different issue locations requiring 3-5 police vehicles) in just a 2 hour walk in half of the French Quarter area, and worst of all, could not find a single shop with any authentic quality items from New Orleans other than mass market items, and I was specifically looking.
