“Best place ever we've stayed in NOLA!”
Reviewed October 30, 2013 for a stay in October 2013

Four couples who travel yearly together all around the USA chose New Orleans, then did tons of research and settled on La Maison Marigny B&B on famous Bourbon Street. With a group of eight we could book the whole place and pretend we lived there for a whole week. What a terrific place and the owner is so helpful. The perfect place for a great experience in the Big Easy!

“Like staying at a friend's house”

La Maison Marigny was the perfect place to stay for our 4-night adventure. It's location at the quiet end of Bourbon Street was ideal. Quiet, non-commercial area and close enough to walk to so many things (but off the beaten track enough to not feel guilty about calling a cab!) John is great host and served substantial and interesting breakfasts. He also provided a little guide and map to favorite restaurants and places. We totally followed that guide. He also had some wonderful tips (e.g., where to ask to sit at Commodore's Palace; how to use the streetcar system; where to go for shrimp remoulade; what to see -- the sculpture garden -- at City Park).

We stayed in the balcony room. Bright, high ceilings, comfortable. Towards the end of the day we could hear the lovely street sounds of the horse-drawn carriages trotting down the street (I guess they were on their way to the stable as they ended their day).

It felt like home. We enjoyed sitting at the breakfast bar in the morning, and appreciated John's "mi casa es su casa" style.

A few things my wife and I loved about this place:

1. A short walk to French quarter and Frenchman street but far enough away where it's not loud and sleeping isn't a problem.
2. Great host and hot breakfast in the mornings.
3. Comfortable and clean rooms.

We'll be back!

“Best of the French Quarter”

Once again I will kick myself for putting a place up on this site since I plan to return many times in the future. It is difficult to know where to begin with the accolades for La Maison Marigny. We were fortunate to have the owner's suite on the first floor but the second floor rooms are excellent as well. John is an absolute wealth of knowledge about the area as well as being a wonderful host who serves up a hearty and satisfying breakfast as well as interesting repartee. The accommodations are beautifully appointed as well as being extremely comfortable, best bed I have ever had the pleasure of sleeping on in a B&B . Should you care to take a break the courtyard is delightful and there is a front porch where you can sit and watch the world go past. Another plus is the location, a short stroll to all the activity of the French Quarter and a shorter distance to the up and coming area where the "locals" go. Best of all we were far enough away from the noise and hub-bub to have a peaceful nights rest while still being in the heart of "The Quarter." Truly a top drawer place to stay in the best city in the States.

“Was this a great place to stay?”

HECK YEA!!! We stayed here Oct 5th to the 8th. We decided to stay in two different B&B's during our week vacation . Since we have never been to NO, we used TA to help decide which ones to use.The location is perfect. Not TO close to the french quarter, but close enough to walk. We were also around the corner from Frenchman street. I have no regrets in choosing this location. The house is beautiful. We liked the low-key atmosphere we felt here, and the breakfast was very good. Hope to stay again soon!

“Perfect place to stay!”
Reviewed October 1, 2013 for a stay in September 2013

The reviews here don't lie and its no surprise that there are no negative reviews! My husband and I just spent a long weekend here for our anniversary. The location was perfect. Being located on the quiet end of iBourbon Street made for easy access to bars and was only a few block walk to get to the French Market. My husband and I (who don't mind a little walking) never had to take a cab anywhere. We stayed in the balcony room which was lovely! Loved having the private balcony to enjoy a cup of coffee on to start the day in the morning. John was a fabulous host. He made us dinner reservations and called a cab for us to the airport. The breakfasts every morning were amazing and my husband and I loved all the little snacks he would leave out. I would 100% recommend this B&B to anyone going to New Orleans. I couldn't imagine having stayed anywhere else.

“Perfect location for exploring downriver portion of NOLA”
Reviewed September 26, 2013 for a stay in September 2013

It's tough to imagine a more perfect perch for exploring the Quarter, the Treme, the Marigny, and the Bywater. The house itself is very comfortable and homey. The beds are divine. John is a treat to talk to in the mornings and the breakfasts are down home indulgent. A sweet spot all-round.
