Very interesting and tour guides were very good. Sort of expensive but you can take the car directly to it and that is free. It was really cool to hear the history and see the floats. Good for everyone.

Wasn't too sure about this one - seemed like it might be a bit hokey but we all enjoyed it tremendously. If you want to see Mardi Gras floats and figures up close and personal don't miss this. I've never been to Mardi Gras and couldn't begin to imagine the sheer massiveness of the floats so it was a real joy to me. You can take a tour and actually watch people preparing floats for the 2013 parade. After the tour you're free to wander around for as long as you'd like and you can also take pictures of everything. Another advantage is the free shuttle which picks you up and drops you back off downtown when you've finished your tour. Definitely a plus for us and I'd highly recommend it to others visiting New Orleans.

I took my son here this summer and it was so cool to see / hear about how the floats are made...and re-made each year. Fabulous gift shop too ;-)

YOU GET TO WANDER THROUGH THEIR WAREHOUSE.

Why on earth would you care? These people really are Mari Gras - they make a majority of the floats for many of the parades. Want to see a float? Want to touch a float? Want to see someone making a float? Want to see a secret float in the process of being built?

After your tour - you get to wander around on your own - amid all the floats in storage! This is nuts! Their insurance company is going to get wind of this and shut it all down.

But until they do - go NOW - we loved it. Starts off with a movie - bit of a history of the parades and the company - they serve you king cake and coffee - then show you the real people making the floats! You get to meet the scuptours and artists and see them working within their studios.

We were blown away by the reality of it all. Great tour - worth twice the price. We loved it.
