Owner description: The National WWII Museum is the top-rated tourist destination in New Orleans, TripAdvisor's #2 museum in the world and #2 in the U.S., and an unforgettable way to experience World War II—from industrial efforts on the home front to the combat experience of the American servicemember abroad. Offering a compelling blend of sweeping narrative and poignant personal detail, the Museum features immersive exhibits, multimedia experiences, and an expansive collection of artifacts and first-person oral histories to take visitors inside the story of the war: why it was fought, how it was won, and what it means today. Beyond the galleries, the Museum offers unique access to experiential history, including an opportunity to tour and ride on an authentically restored PT-boat, tours behind the scenes to handle artifacts alongside Museum curators, and an impressive collection of restored and working macro-artifacts to discover. Open early through 1/2/18, 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. nationalww2museum.org

This is the third time I’ve been to this museum over the past 10 to 12 years and this last experience was as if it was brand new. The museum is beyond excellent and continues to expand its collection and displays. You need at least five hours to see everything. I particularly love the new exhibits in building three with the Pacific theater and European theater wars. I also noticed this last time the museum did a better job of telling less known stories of the war. They also did a good job of showing stories of women and people of color which want in the older sections that have been there for years. This is a must!!!!!!! Thanks

Plan for a lot of time here! Especially if you watch the movie - which is definitely worth the time and money. We spent 3 1/2 hours and did not see everything. The whole museum is so well done and really interesting. Definitely worth a visit.

The museum does a wonderful job personalizing World War II. Rather than simply talk about battles and showing equipment, it does this, but in a more personal way by connecting it more directly to the men and women that fought and supported the war effort.

Loved this place. The exhibits are detailed and fascinating, and interspersed with multimedia video elements which were incredibly helpful. Left with a far greater historical knowledge than I entered with. I did not do the special experiences such as the Tom Hanks 4D film or the submarine but in retrospect wish I had. Go now!
