Robi Gilmore - a Voodoo Priest - spent a full two hours with us explaining the true nature of this religion and debunking the myths. His tour was entertaining, informative and he did an excellent job of involving all the group. He was a treasure!
James Blackbird was our tour guide during the Cemetery and Garden District Tour and he was amazing! His personality was a lot of fun and I am so thankful for all the place he took us. The cemetery tour was educational and had a lot of good stories. James took us by a lot of beautiful homes including John Goodman's, Sandra Bullock's, Archie Manning's, and even one that was once occupied by Anne Rice. Best part was that the cost of the tour was literally up to you! You gave the tour guide whatever amount you felt was deserving based on the tour you received. I promise you, you won't regret this tour!
I signed up for the Lafayette Cemetary/Garden District tour only because a tour group was the only way to see the Cemetary. I was prepared to feel like an idiot while standing around conspicuously while listening to bad jokes.
Andrew was fantastic - knowledgeable, respectful, funny. He knew so much that I would have missed without him. At the end, he passed out his business card with his cell number in case we had any questions while we're visiting.
Just loved it ❤️
When most of us think of Voodoo we invasion a Hollywood interpretation of hexes, spells etc. This tour was highly recommended and we will add to that recommendation. We learned a great deal of interesting information about the religion of VooDoo, from a real VooDoo priest (Robi) along with the different slave histories in and around New Orleans. Entertaining and educational. One of our favorite adventures in the week we were in Nola.
Just great! It was our last day in NOLA (Dec. 27, 2015) and we met up with Tere from Free Tours by Foot for the Cemetery Tour! She was extremely knowledgeable.. Our family had a great time. We have a 14 year old boy and 12 year old girl and they enjoyed it. I truly recommend it.
It was a well spent time during 1,5 hour of walking tour with Sean.
He showed us The French Quater and told a lot of witty stories.
Highly recommend!
