Check in was a bit confusing as the office is located a block away in the other Prytania Park hotel. Once we had that squared away we got settled in our small but quaint second floor room. Old world charm with high ceilings and real wood trim. Large shower in the bathroom , but a burnt out light, slow drains, and very leaky shower door left a bit to be desired. We loved the residential location with plenty of great restaurants and bars within easy walking distance. LYFT drivers always close by too. We actually chose to walk to Bourbon St one morning, a tad long but really not a bad walk.

Dear Guest, I do apologize for any confusion you experienced upon arrival and where to register. We do ask all 3rd party booking to use our disclaimer regarding check in procedures, but they all seem to re-write them and then put it in small print. Booking.com where you booked has been notified of your issue, in hopes they will correct their site.

As to the maintenance issues, I am so humbly sorry for these problems in your room. We do our best to ensure all light bulbs are working, but as we all experience in our own homes, they do burn out at the worst possible times, and without notice.

I appreciate the heads up on the slow drain and a leaky shower door, we will certainly address these at once.

I hope if you ever get back down to New Orleans, you will give us another opportunity to be your hotelier and show you we are on top of maintenance.

We were pleasantly surprised when we got to the hotel! The outside was a little bit of a shock it could use some work, but when we got to our room it was very very nice and we felt like we were at home. Nice and clean and very roomy. I think they may be working on the outside and just aren't done yet. The patio furniture could use an update. The people were very nice, we would stay there again.

Booked this room in April for the cruise we had in October. I called about the park and cruise and was told that it was no longer available☹️. When checking in on 10/21/17, we said something about our cruise and the front desk guy said that we should have did the park and cruise to save money. I told him I called in April and he said that they started it back up in May. We asked about doing it now and was told no because there was a parade and they wouldn't have room and since we booked through Expedia that it wasn't an option for us☹️. Room smelled musky but I adored the room anyway. Very clean. Squeaky real hardwood floors and a quaint bathroom. Didn't like that check in was across the street and down on right though. I liked room and people were nice but I felt it was wrong to mention the parking and then tell me no....
We had already booked the night for our return from cruise and was given a different room. This one was upstairs and I loved it! No musky smell and still had the squeaky floors I adore. I wish I would have known that we had a balcony though! Curtains were all closed on arrival and we were so exhausted from walking the town for 6 hours (waiting to check in) and didn't think to open them until morning when getting ready to leave. I would have enjoyed being on the balcony that night since the weather was fantastic.

If you've never been to New Orleans (as we had not), don't freak out when you first see the area the hotel is in. It looked a bit scary, but it turned out not to be. We usually stay in reasonably priced generic hotels, but I wanted the "real New Orleans" charm. We found that here, but the area takes a little getting used to as it is old and a little run-down, but is undergoing improvements. The room we stayed in was small, but comfortable and quiet, plus there was a microwave and fridge, The bathroom was quite nice and surprisingly roomy. Additionally, we were very near the trolley and never used our car. Plus parking was free! The staff was great, and arranged tours for us. There were also several restaurants within walking distance. Do keep in mind that you have to check in at their hotel around the corner. (There are three hotels in this complex.) And, if you have trouble walking, know that the sidewalks are not in good shape. Despite that, we enjoyed our stay.

Room Tip: Try for a first-floor room. It's an old place, and the stairs might be a bit much with luggage.

I found this place online after looking at hotels in and near the French Quarter. this hotel is actually in a separate neighborhood but its VERY close to the streetcar stop. we actually did walk back from FQ one day but it was a pretty long walk. maybe 30 mins. the streetcar on St. Charles is really close though, like you walk for a minute to get there. the location was fine, kinda hidden which we loved. it was a great price too. we loved that we could just go outside and have our own little patio table to sit at too. Its not the fanciest place but its clean and comfortable.

Room Tip: we had the Charming Old World room which was a full sized bed and a bathroom. great for two people. but they do offer bigger rooms as well.
